thrush!
As thrush is beneficial in the gut it does get into places where it is not welcome. It does turn up in some strange places, I've had it in my inner ear
The consultant will probably recommend treatment. If not, tell the GP yourself. It's usually simple to treat
Because I have sjorgrens I sometimes get some on my tongue for which I have an anti fingal gel, you can buy over the counter gel that's not as fierce as prescription depends how severe it is.. as for "down below thrush- canestan duo is the best!
Hi nadine111 , Are you speaking of thrush on your tongue/throat? ? You may want yo ask your pharmacist for 'Magic Mouthwash", I've was given it several years ago for thrush and worked great. You just gargle with it for the period prescription says.I wish you luck it is annoying. Peck.🐤
thanks. will talk with my gastro about "magic mouthwash". i constantly am gargling with biotene due to dry mouth. have read that that might not be the right way to handle this issue so knowing about magic mouthwash is great.
What a nuisance for you. I think thrush comes when your body is under some kind of strain. It can follow antibiotics which gets rid of the good bacteria as well as the bad.
I have just Googled Fibro and Candida, (Thrush) and it seems that if the two are present it puts an extra burden on the immune system.
I suggest you Google to find out more.

Hi there
I have been on the forum for 5 years and have had Fibro for 36 years.
In that time I have seen so many people writing about having trouble swallowing and so I would say that yes, it probably is a symptom of Fibro.
I have it myself, especially when eating very dry food.
I also have dreadful acid reflux which I am pretty sure doesn't help.
I am obviously not a medical professional but I would think that perhaps the thrush may be more stress related.
I do believe that once you have thrush it can be difficult to get rid of, a bit like cold sores.

Hi BlueMermaid3 , Hope your doing ok today. When I think back to when I had it maybe 1998....I was diagnosed with FM in 1999 so as we know I probably already had it it don't just pop up.In your reply what you said about stress is so very true, I was at a very bad point in my life the following year my dr told me due to depression and anxiety I could no longer work. All you said makes since so I hope this may help you in the future. It wasn't hard to get rid of once I got the "magic mouthwash" lol (I just find that funny) but it is most annoying. Hope you have a good night my friend, Peck ❤
thanks. i too have acid reflux, never had it until had surgery for hiatal hernia plus achelasia. now it's awful. every time i feel like my fibro is not going to get worse or better something happens to my body. never sure what is fibro related and what isn't. thanks for your input.
I have oral thrush regularly! Not sure if Fibro related. Doctor said it's being 'run down'. There are over the counter medicines that can help but doctor should prescribe something.

Hi nadine111
I really am so genuinely sorry to read this, and I have had oral thrush quite a few times. My GP has said mine is related to my inhalers as I have 3 different types and use them quite a lot. I now rinse my mouth quite regularly to try and avoid a repercussion.
I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
interesting. i just started using an inhaler. will have to ask dr. if might be related. thank you much...
Hi Nadine 111,
I had an endoscopy (scan of the stomach) last week as well. Before going under I ask the doctor whether she could check for candida (thrush) and she looked at me and said we doctors do not believe in thrush. I have had the runs for a year now. Afterwards she said I had a bacterial infection and gave me two antibiotics of which one is for thrush - lol . Well I finished the course on Saturday past and will see what is developing. I suspected candida all the time, but was told by German doctors that one would have to detox from heavy metals first, before one can treat the candida successfully. I will do all that once the Christmas holidays have started, because I am just too busy at work - still run my own business. I have had fibro for 34 years and I live in Namibia. I do not even know one person who has fibro here. Good luck.
