Hi hun yes I get migraine related to fibro, it starts at the muscles at the back of my neck and goes up inside my skull, I have a drug called sumatriptine prescribed, ask you g.p if you can have some to try you take them at the onset of a migraine to stop it becoming a serious one. I know some of our members take this with good effect.

Hi down247 I'm sorry you are suffering from migraine, they are extremely painful. I am one of the lucky ones, I get stars in my eyes, flashing lights, double vision, black spots but it very rarely turns to a full blown migraine.

I'm afraid it is one of the things that seems to come with Fibro and a high percentage of ppl.with fibromyalgia have.

People with fibromyalgia tend to suffer from three different types of headaches: muscle tension headaches, migraines and combination headaches

There is other medication as others have already mentioned but it is a chronic pain headache and like other chronic pain conditions, it's a case of trying different meds till you get one that helps.

If your doctor is not giving you other medication maybe you could see another doctor in the practice and get another opinion.

Peace, Luv n light

Hi down247

I really am so genuinely sorry to read this and I also get prescribed Sumatriptan like your other respondents. There is also an extra anti-sickness drug that you can take alongside this called Metoclopramide.

A sneaky suggestion is to seek outside medical care from a walk-in centre etc when you feel a migraine coming as they may offer you something more appropriate? I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken
