Teg 13: Can anyone tell me a good... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
Teg 13
Hi Teg.....Difficult one this as we all react differently to our meds.....I can only speak for myself and I take 50 or 75mg at night of Amitriptyline BUT that is with my GP's blessing. I wouldn't suggest you up your dose unless you speak to your GP first....Hope you get sorted very soon, but I think with fibro a good nights sleep is something we all wish for.x
Hi he has said I can go up to 50 but I've got 4 kids to look after and a bit scared in case I feel sleepy the next day but with only just finding out what's been wrong with me am still getting use to fibo I never even heard of it 😐x
Are well Teg that is a little different to me...I am retired so if I don't get up in the morning nobody is affected. If you do up your dose I think you will find that it will take time to get used to (not long, maybe a week or two) before you don't feel fuzzy. Be especially careful though if you drive them to school!! Take care and gentle hugs to you xxxx
Thanks everyone I've taken 40 tonight as my husband is at home in the morning 👍so hopefully it will help hope u all sleep well x
I take 90 mgs of amitryptyline and it's the only way I can get some sleep...I have just been put on 30mg of Duloxetine too
Are u ok the next day in 90 ? am a little scared if they up mine x
I will try that thank u x
I take 400 mg Loranzipam it works for around 5/6 hours sleep but it's adictive The only other thing is CBD oil or capsuials but you have to buy them from the nett I think we all have our sleeping medication Iv had Antrypaline and they did not help me sleep Good Luck
Hi Teg13
I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are having sleeping issues, and as the others have said sadly, we all react differently to medications so it is impossible to say what could work for you? Have you tried something like 'Nytol' that you can buy over the counter from your pharmacist? They are for short term use only but may be worth a try?
I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
I found that 10mg Amyttipaline made me feel groggy next day so I rarely took it however after it became almost the norm being up all night in pain my GP prescribed liquid morphine (oramorph). I was really against this as I worried about addiction but eventually I gave in and took just one 5ml spoonful before bed and 95% of the time it worked. I still tried not to take it but when you get a good nights sleep you feel so much better the next day so it's worth a try but please keep it out of reach of the kids.
Good luck 😊
I wonder if your g.p advised you to take your amitrip around tea time so that when you go to bed it has kicked in? I can,t stand those pills I woke with an horrendous headache! I have zopiclone 3.75 and I take half of one AFTER I,ve had a couple of bad nightss o as not to get addicted or dependant-maybe your g.p will allow tou to try some? BUT get good advise on taking the amitrip as well!!!
