Snug as a bug....

Since I started with this painful episode in my life, it was given a name (Fibromyalgia) but not a cure. I have been on a mission to keep warm as that would appear to be the best way to reduce this burden. I have scrimped and saved to buy natural materials that work at warming the body so much better than synthetics. I thought I would share with my co-fibroddities, my latest fashion look. (I dare not post a picture it would be too frightening for those of a gentle dispositionl) My very best buy was a pair of cashmere lounge pants - priced at £100, but bought for £10 in the store's (lets dump the junk) sale. They were slightly soiled at the hem, but a very gentle wash brought them to good as new. My next purchase cost a bit more, a real Irish Aran knitted hat, cream, now decorated with a knitted poppy. The best buy ever cost the proverbial arm and leg for we pensioners, but I bought a blue aran knitted cardigan - the sort the fishermen used to wear. I love it. I look like something the cat has dragged in - but my dear friends, I am toasty warm in my au natural outfit, the arthritis pains recede, the fibro muscle pains are bearable so I am one happy bunny - The only drawback, well I dare not answer the doorbell, I doubt those non-sufferers would understand - but hey who cares they aren't in our club. xx

Hiya! This brought a smile! It's funny you writing about this as my fibro symptoms have got worse and I am feeling cold so much these days. I go out to the bins etc., in my pyjamas and housecoat or to the garage for things in all weather, and need to stop this really. I'm not wrapping up warmly enough but have just thought about starting to wear a vest and possibly thermal leggings under my jeans. My knees give me bother too and although people tell me how well I look (when the face and the hair is done lol) like us all, we are struggling with pain everyday. I think maybe the thermals would give me support and warmth as I have bought knee supports and hate them ,but use them if I am going to be out for any length of time. It was either flip-flops or flimsy slippers I had also which dont help your walking at home so I have invested in a pair of Sketchers "Bobs" recently. I think someone else commented on these recently. They aren't cheap but feel like heaven to what I was wearing. I'm glad you are chuffed with your purchases and great to hear that keeping warm is helping. Who cares what you look like if you are comfy. I think I have frightened my postman a few times lol! All the best x

I think that is wonderful and funny...thank you for giving me a giggle! x Very sensible though but don't put them in a hot wash or they may fit a small child!!!! xx
