I'm struggling most days with chronic spinal pain, starts at the top of my neck through to lumbar and into my hips, I'm so uncomfortable sitting and trying to walk.
Does anyone have tips on how to relieve this

Hello Gailj How painful and frustrating for you.
If you look to the right of your screen in blue you will see Related Posts, some of which could help you greatly.
I find a small rolled up towel placed in the lumber region helps as does a hot water bottle.
Have you had physio on your back? If not it would be worth getting an appointment, some you can self refer, others have to be done by the GP. It also worth asking for a referral to a pain clinic who may revise your medication and give you coping tips.
I do hope your pain eases soon.

I absolutely have to keep a pillow between my knees every chance I get. While watching tv or asleep
Thanks for your tip, I'll try that 😄
If your on your back try keeping a pillow under your knees. Whatever takes the pressure off the lower lumbar region. I need to reposition a lot but I know it does help me. I would use two pillows between my legs to fall asleep on my side. I hope it helps
i get this too only on my tailbone which goes round hips and pelvis, its the worst pain i actually have from all my symptoms. I haven't found anything as of yet to get the relief from the pain, will be defo bringing this up when i see my rheumy next week.
That's bad enough to deal with isn't it, good luck xx
Hi Gailj
When you ask your GP for a referral to see a physio, it may be a good idea to also ask for a referral to a Pain Management Clinic as suggested by bluebell99 .
There is often a long waiting list for them, but they are incredibly good.
The only thing that gives me slight relief is a hot water bottle but where to put it as the whole of my spine hurts.
Some people find that Epsom Salts in a warm bath helps them. I tried it a couple of times, but it did nothing for me.
I know there was a question about whether you should use Epsom Salts if you have high blood pressure, but I can't remember what the outcome was. Sorry that wasn't much help was it?!
Has your GP investigated you for osteoarthritis?
Wishing you much peace
Lu xx
Hi,
Thanks for the response.
I'm waiting for a pain clinic appointment so will ask about chasing that.
After extensive tests I half expected to be told I had Osteo but I have Lupus and Fibromyalgia.
I'd love a lovely long soak in the bath, I can get in but can't get out.
Xx
I waited 7 months for my Pain Clinic appointment. I don't know how long you have been waiting ?
I rang and asked if I could go on a short notice cancellation list but they didn't run one.
You could always try ringing your local Council and ask if they will help you to have grab rails etc put in, if that is your issue re having a bath.
It is always worth a phone call to find out.

Good Morning, we are having a level shower installed with grab rails in the spring, we are paying for it as I didn't fancy going through the DFG avenue, that will ease my problems significantly.
I'm seeing my GP on 15/11, I'll ask her to chase the pain clinic appointment.
Thank you so much for the advice xx
