Hi folks i haven't been in touch for awhile as not been too great. I decided to have a Saturday night out with my best friend as haven't done that since April, at the end of the evening we booked a taxi to take us home but there was a 15 minute wait so we sat on the steps outside the club, now i have Crohns and needed to use the toilet pretty dam quick so i went back into the club, when i came out the taxi had arrived earlier than expected my friend was already sat in it,well i went down the first step and the next thing i knew my leg just gave way and i ended up on the pavement,a nice man passing by helped me up i felt like a right wally. Well on the Sunday i was in so much pain i went to the Hospital, the outcome was soft tissue chest injury with swelling [ very very painiful ] because of difficulty when breathing i now have a chest infection with inflamation and for some reason also a UTI. On antibiotics and strong painkillers that puts my pill taking up to 30 a day. My whole body feels rubbish and i haven't been out for two weeks but on the bright side i have a fantastic partner, family and friends so life could be worse. Take care all and hope your all doing ok.xx

Hithere,

Not exactly the same thing, but a few weeks ago, I woke up with major pains in the left side of my chest, through to the shoulder blade, all down my left arm and tingling hand and fingers. I honestly through, 'this is it'. I rang 999 blahblahblah....... The upshot was, I had costachondritis. Inflamation of the chest muscles which, I later learned is quite common in fibromyalgia sufferers. The doctor told me to expect pain for 2 to 3 weeks and I was given Naproxen.

UTI's can be caused by antibiotics. I learned that as a carer for my mum. If she had a chest infection and needed antibiotics, she always got a UTI, then needed more (or a different type).

Arnica Montana tablets (homeopathy) are great for bruising (inside and out). Inexpensive and they work. Don't handle them too much, just pop one under your tongue and let it dissolve. You'll be amazed. My recovery was just over a week! 1 tablet 3 times a day.

Your night out was hopefully worth it. Poor you at the end though.

I don't socialise. The equivalent of a night out for me, is a night in with the dogs, which is EVERY night lol.

Take care and I hope I've helped a bit.

hope youre fully recovered.Thats my life-my dogs,Never go out or socialise apart from an evening at the local theatre for the youth theatre performances.

my dog decided to drag me up a hill-halfway up and pain and breathless-ribs digging in,sat in bus shelter for good 10 minutes to recover

I'm the same, my dogs and cats are my life. Have never been much of a people person and because I'm now deaf socialising is impossible anyway. I'm a happy hermit!

Im the same-never one for "going out" when younger.where i live people tend to stay behind closed doors.i have two close friends but they are too busy to make time for me.

All my friends and relatives deserted me when I was caring for my mum. It's amazing how quickly people run the other way when they think you might need them to help.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. Everyone assumes you're going to ask for help. Now its just the dogs and me.

i was reliant on my gp so when problems began when he didnt support me,i didnt have anyone else to turn to.my dog could tell gp a thing or two if she could speak

I'd give anything to give dogs a voice. It'd save me from swearing lol

i once said to m y gp you should take notice of my dog!

My dog got the scent of a rabbit, dragged me into a tree then halfway across a field. All I could do was hold on lol

I had my other dog trailing behind, wondering why I'd turned into a human ski!

Not so funny, was the fact I've fractured my shoulder, torn my rotator cuff and cracked my clavicle. Trials and tribulations. More physio on Tuesday. Still it takes my mind off the fibro flare-ups from time to time.

My dogs aren't big enough to be able to drag me anywhere, thankfully. I've had a torn rotator cuff, though, so I know how painful it is. You take care.

Thank you. Mine are a Siberian Husky (he perhaps thought I was a sleigh) and a German Shepherd. They give me good reason to get up in the morning and are both as head strong as me!!! haha

We always seem to pay after enjoying a night out, but you have really hit the jackpot. So sorry you are in pain and on yet more pills. I would also recommend arnica pills and cream to treat bruising after a fall. Hope you feel better soon. MariLiz x

Hope you recover soon, I had a incident where I lost my balance getting out of the bath, fell over elbow hit the bathroom sink and on the way down to the floor my chest hit the sink edge...... Oh damm painful.......toiled on and went to the doctors some three weeks later and it turned out I had fractured two ribs...... taken around 6 weeks to recover from that fall, we all just need to take things a bit easy and take our time getting around....but what a way to end a evening, great you have a lovely family to support you too....

Take care..
