Hi Dad24, I think you will find the majority of us have that, a lot of us has a heat blanket we put on our shoulders, plus pain killers , have you ever tried heat pads they may be of use to you, you can get them out of Home Bargains a £1 a pack. I hope this helps. xx

Yes its common in fibro unforch. As suggested by Robbie, heat can help on your neck and shoulders as it can relax your whole upper body.. i take cocodemol aswell. X

Hi Dad24

I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are in so much pain and I sincerely hope that it eases for you soon. I tend to cover my arms up when they ache as any breeze or motion sensation makes them ache all the more. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Oh also if your pain is worse in a specific place, you coukd ask the doc bout gels that help with neuralgia. Capsaicin suposed to be good, but im scared of using it as it can initially feel burny apparently. X

Hi - I get terrible pains in my shoulder blade areas and in my shoulders themselves. I find that just resting (I know easier said than done sometimes...) helps as well as putting heat on the area xx take care x

I was able to get relief for shoulders and top of arms but getting everlasting cold laser therapy treatments. It's not generall covered by insurance in US but it not too costly for us and the outcome is good. I also do yoga and stretching and massage. My masseuse is knowledable about my issues, fibro, RA, and MS and she is so helpful at loosening trigger points.

The people who do PT stretch me in addition to my own stretching and yoga

It does not eliminate it forever but I get good relief and times that feel wonderful

I hope any of that is helpful

hi Dad24, I had awful pain in the long bone from just above elbow to shoulder. My doctor recommended a steroid injection and arranged for me to have one. I got it about 3 weeks ago now and have had no pain at all in my arm since then. If you get it don't be alarmed if your face is very red for a couple of days it goes away, if course it may not affect you that way. I was apprehensive at first about getting a steroid injection buy my gp said it is only a problem being treated long term with them, I hope you get some reflief, Andrea xx
