Interesting discovery!

Hi, I'm new to this forum, but have been diagnosed with Fibro for about 20 years.

I'm taking a high dose of Lyrica.

(Amongst, many other things, for many diagnosis's).

Whilst doing some research, I have discovered SERRAPEPTASE.

And, it's very interesting. Please go and find out about it. I have just started taking it.

It is supposed to help Fibromyalgia. xx

Looks interesting. For myself I am a tiny bit wary as you have to be careful if you are on Ibuprophen because of the blood clotting but as long as anyone who wishes to try it fully reads about the side effects and possible intereactions it is certainly worth a punt. Do let us know how you get on with it and what benefits you find.x

Like rosewine i also would be very wary and would probably have a word with my GP first.

Sue :)

Hi Fudge57 welcome to the forum ☺ I'm sure you will love it like we all do.. Your like me, had Fibro for nearly 30 yrs. I have Arthritis also.

I take Lycra too, Lycra is the manufacturer, The name of them is Pregablin, do they help you ? I find they help somewhat !.

The Serrapeptase are surposed to be very good & an alternative to ibuprofen, they have anti inflammatory properties. Now I've just read about them, I am definitely going to get some & give them a go.

Thanx for sharing & look forward to talking to you.

Peace, luv n light

Jan ☺

I was in a clinical study & found I was taking pregabalin. I gained 20 pounds in a heartbeat. It was not the right answer for me , but glad it helps you a little. I just suffer a whole lot without taking much of anything. I have some prescribed meds, Meloxicam & Flexiril, but all Franken drugs make me feel strange. I try to break through with high nutrition. Just searching like you...

Hmm that's the only trouble with it, you more often than not put on weight. Its not right for everyone but that's the same with all drugs really..I think Preg. has some other side effects that are also not very nice.

I think that's why it takes so long to get under control because everyone & every case of Fibro can be different and there are stages where some people have it quite severe and others can manage to still go to work. I know for myself, Iv'e gone through so many different drugs over the years, 1 of them even effected my breathing & I was having panic attacks, Violently shaking and thought i was going to die lol..still here to tell the tale though haha..

I'm confused with the Meloxicam, thought that was more of an anti-inflammantory & used more for RA & cyclobenzaprine I have not heard being used in Fibro either, but I did just do a bit of research & it is sometimes used for Fibro, so that was a new one on me.

Oh the joys of fibro my friend ;-) I will mention that to my doctor because I suffer really bad with cramps and like everything else, has got worse over time and I dont really like taking the quinuine and wondering if that would be a better alternative !

luv Jan x

That's what it's all about, we keep trying and gain ideas from others. The Melaxicam works wonderfully for some certain (nusciene) areas of pain that I have. My X-rays do have mild degeneration in my spine. The Flexeril was ok to take in early evening only. I was so tired when I used it in day during working hours. That is a horrible even hearing about that med that made you have panic attacks and shaking. ive never heard of quinuine but looking forward to researching it! I must say, the biggest breakthrough for me has been eating natural foods and talking organic sulfur. Before that I was desperate, severe CFS, paresthesia and could only move about as if I were 100 years old...but we all must keep going & trying until they find a cure (💡?) I sure hope so! Wishing you answers and peace 😊

Hi Fudge57

Ii sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted you a link below to our mother site, FMA UK which hosts loads of useful Fibro information:

I have done a *Google search of Serrapeptase, and unfortunately I cannot take any thing that has anti-inflammatory properties. Please see the search below:

*Serrapeptase is a proteolytic (protein destroying) enzyme from bacteria native to the digestive system of silkworms. It is the enzyme responsible for dissolving a silkworm's cocoon. Traditionally, serrapeptase has been used for its anti-inflammatory properties. Today, it is marketed as a joint health supplement.

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

So scary how things that seem healthy can be so damaging. Are we the test animals?

TheAuthor in reply to Hidden

Hi Hidden I have to admit that it does not sound pleasant?

Hidden in reply to TheAuthor

No and I feel we are being tested as consumers of these substances

Hi, Thank you for your welcome. Like everything else, not everybody can take certain things, but it could well help some people.

As for asking my GP. It would be a waste of time, she is pretty useless. She doesn't even know that much about Fibromyalgia. I have had to educate her.

I am on a lot of meds. Including Morphine for my back. Have TMJ and am Bipolar. IBS. Frequent migraines. So, am going to give it a go. I can't say Lyrica has helped that much.
