Hi and welcome, may I ask why do you think your foot pain is gout ! Does it effect one foot or both feet?

I ask because I have suffered feet pain as long as I can remember and it is not gout.

There is many things that can cause foot/feet pain. Where exactly in your foot is your pain?

I am so sorry your suffering in this way.

It's a burning kind of pain mainly around the big toe and my doctor advised me it was possible to be gout it's not there all the time mainly in evening/night there is no swelling or discolouration just pain .

My neighbour suffers with gout to the point he sometimes needs crutches as he can not put his foot to the floor for pain in his big toe.

I also worked for another person who would almost cry with the pain. Both these gentle men were landlords of pubs an liked to imbide a little to much in the amber nectar result Gout.

Alcohol is one of the main reasons for gout problems in the big toe. Gout as far as i'm aware can effect other parts of the body as it is one of many different kinds of arthritis. Dont quote me lol but I think I've ready about it somewhere in the past. xx

Hello from a Gout, fibremelogy, artritis, suffer,

Any way before i was told i had gout yes my big toe was extremely sore shoes was a no no anyway i had an exray and they showed me the cristles as they called them in my foot joints and yes other parts of your body can be effected, my dr told me he had to wait until the pain had gone away until he put me on a tablet allopural one each day and that has done the trick

good luck and in years gone by it was called the rich mans dease for the rich where the only ones who could afford the rich food

ok good luck

'Morning Peck :) I suffer from Plantar Faciatis, too, that's why I wondered, too, who told Williamsian that she had gout, although I know gout is very painful in the big toe. I'm sorry you have painful feet, Peck, I hope it will not always be so painful :( I have insoles which help me. Have a painfree day, if possible. Hugs to you!

Hi,

My partner suffers with pain involving his big toe and was diagnosed with gout.

Turned out that it was a misdiagnosis and it was arthritis which is now thankfully under control with correct meds.

Have any tests been done?

I hope that you soon feel better.

Hi there, forgive me if i'm wrong but isn't gout a form of arthritis ?

I didn't get that impression from the consultant we saw but just checked on the all knowing interweb which said it is a form of arthritis which involves crystals forming from Uric acid. So maybe a different type of arthritis which requires a different treatment.

Rheumatologist definitely said he didn't have gout though and it actually turned out to be Psoriatic arthritis. Who even knew that was a thing....confusing!
