Sooo glad I found this page about fibromyalgia , hoping to learn off everyone how to cope with this very strange debilitating illness.
OK so all day at work I was totally exhausted(as per usual..) Now I'm exhausted but still awake... trying to fight it subconsciously I guess so I don't sleep in for hours tomorrow ,which as I type is actually today [deep sigh...!]
well nice to meet you all on here,if in fact I do "meet" anybody else on here who also is annoyingly awake...

Thanks so much for your reply, you're SO right it is crazy.[well I think it has made me go crazy!].thank goodness for computers for something to do apart from eat ...ha
yep i do find myself buttering myself a slice of toast at 4am quite often, yet i am losing weight, strange. maybe it's keeping my metabolism running so to speak lol
Sorry about that lol, i've just eaten a yuk natural yogurt cos i remembered i hadn't eaten one today and have to eat one every day (i won't go into reasons lol)
i hope you get some sleep tonight. and i hope i do too, i've got the mother and her partner coming over for dinner and she says i look like a zombie at the best of times. (lovely mother i know) lol
it's hard when you just can't sleep you feel like you're the only one awake in the entire world.
i find if i can't sleep trying to get up and do something boring or non engaging or monotonous helps me to sleep if it's just not being able to sleep. if it's because of pain nothing helps, i take some morphine and that doesn't even make me sleep more than 3 hours solidly. sleeping tablets don't mix with my other meds so i'm a bit stuffed in that respect.
also i'm reluctant to take more of the morphine than i have to because of the nature of the drug/ addictive/ etc...
Haha I thought that was only me that did things like that😃
Welcome to the fibro-non sleepers anon.
i'm normally awake at night but not always about on here because of pain. can't sit up to type on my laptop. luckily i've just taken my painkillers. the perpetual tiredness is one of the hardest things to deal with for me. but then when i lay down i can't sleep and even if i can then i only sleep for about an hour. i just wake up and can't get back to sleep. tonight is one of those nights lol
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted you a link below to our mother site, FMA UK which hosts loads of useful Fibro information:
Welcome to the forum. You've definitely found the right place for titbits of advice about Fibro and wonderful support from people going through the same illness. Or just a chat. 🙂
I certainly know the pain of getting through a day at work feeling utterly exhausted. In fact I am currently off work for a few weeks because of a flare up. The dreaded Fibro fog got me!
Sleep issues can be utterly horrible. I hope you will find some peace tonight.
I work for a big company which can be good and bad. We do have a union which is helpful.
So far work are ok but remains to be seen how it will go as time goes by. I wish I could say I felt ready to go back but I don't. My job is stressful which doesn't help and I often get upset there.
Have you checked out the main site for info on what help you can get? Ken posted a link further up in the comments. There's some good stuff there.
Hi I too was unable to get to sleep before I got my diagnosis. I now take amitriptyline and neurotin in small doses in the evening. It does make it more difficult to get up in the morning but I now get my sleep which enables my body to recharge it's batteries. I don't like taking drugs but needs must.Good luck.
Hi there crazy-diamond Welcome to the site, I'm sure you will love it as we all do. You have definitely come to the right place. Iv'e had Fibro for nearly 30 yrs & I've learned more by being on here than in all the yrs I've had it.
You will surely make lots of friends, come to understand it more and accept and live with it the best you can. Sleep is always a problem, do you take any medication to help you sleep. I do & I don't always sleep well but they do help me relax and just go with the fact that at least I'm resting. Anyway, nice to meet you too & speak soon.
