Hi my friend
I am so genuinely sorry to read this and I have pasted a couple of excerpts from *Medicine News Today below for you:
.
*What is Heart Block?
.
Heart block, AV bundle, or bundle branch block affects the electrical system of the heart. It is different from coronary artery disease, which affects the heart's blood vessels.
In heart block, the heart beats irregularly and more slowly than usual, potentially stopping for up to 20 seconds at a time.
This is due to a delay, obstruction, or disruption along the pathway that electrical impulses travel through to make the heart beat. It can result from injury or damage to the heart muscle or heart valves.
Heart block itself does not usually need direct treatment, but related underlying health conditions do.
.
*Types of heart block
.
There are three types of heart block.
First-degree heart block involves minor heartbeat disruptions, such as skipped beats. It is the least serious type of heart block, and it does not generally require treatment.
Second-degree heart block occurs when some electrical signals never reach the heart, causing dropped or skipped beats. The patient may feel dizzy, and they may need a pacemaker. The ventricle may not contract, as the atrial impulse did not reach the ventricles.
Third-degree or complete heart block is when electrical signals do not travel between the upper and lower chambers of the heart. It is more common in patients with heart disease. Without a pacemaker, there is a serious risk of heart attack.
I am confident that if you had a more serious type of ''Heart Block'' that they would have taken action immediately such as giving you a mouth spray called ''GTN'' that relaxes and widens blood vessels in the heart and in the rest of the body.
I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
Hello, my husband has this but on the right, rather than left. We found out completely by accident due to unrelated investigations. He has never needed any treatment for it, apparently it is very common. It doesnt cause him any problems, he is fit and active, & has probably had it all his life. I wouldnt worry about it to be honest, but if you are concerned you could ask your GP about it.
Take care xx
Hi Juls I was diagnosed with ectopic heartbeats after going to my GP with a huge amount of what I thought were palpitations.
I was told by my GP that it is very common and doesn't need treatment. She told me that this occurs when your heart beats too many times.
It's very scary when it happens as it feels as though my heart is beating very fast and very hard, it feels as though my heart is going to burst out of my chest like the alien in the ALIEN movie ! lol It also makes me very short of breath.
But as I say, I had lots of reassurance from my GP that it is common and doesn't require treatment.
Don't know anything about heart branch block so can't help with that one I'm afraid.
Gentle hugs to you.
I have had this when it was found at the age of 14i'm now 60. Back then it was called a heart murmur. To give mine its full title it's called a 3rd degree styotic heart murmur. I have never needed any treatment for it. But as @Author post shows mine is the mildest form of this problem.
Thank you fr all your reply's , seems it must be okay as you say if there was a problem i would have been seen sooner 'im not seeing cardiologist till december had most tests so seems he is not concerned which is good news for me.. does worry me though when heart feels like its flipping about in my chest. and i do have shortness of breath and dizziness .. well any way thaks again folk's .. take care xx
