Hi Lyzzie

Please please don't suddenly stop taking them.

It is extremely important that you slowly wean off any medication very gradually and with your GP's guidance.

Good luck with your decision.

dont worry lu, my mum was a nurse and I understand all that, but because the pain has been really bad Ive been taking the permitted dose which I dont normally, and I think thats why my breathing has been so bad, I suffer from Sleep apnoea as well as having AF I dont think they are a good combination. I'll talk to him first dont worry, but I really think I'd be better with the Codeine mix. Thanks for replying though. Stay well. Lyzzie x

Goodluck 😌

Good day Lizzie, I am reading about your dilemma with Tramadol,, don't stop them suddenly or you will et horrible withdrawal ask your doctor for advise on weening off. Hope you get something suitable soon.

dont worry I wont, I intend to start cutting them down a little bit, Ive been having more because of the pain and I really think they are causing side effects, but I will talk to my GP, that was cranky me talking, Im usually quite good with putting up with pain, but this intense burning pain is nasty. Im sure all any of us want is a bit of peace now and again!, still obviously feeling sorry for myself!! take care, Lyzzie x

Good luck with coming off them and hope the alternative meds work for you. I know not everyone can take them and many people don't want to but for that intense burnung pain I was put on Pregablin. I would be lying to say I never get it but the improvement in that particular pain is immense.x

that sounds really helpful Rosewine, sorry, I meant Hopeful, honestly, my fingers run away with me sometimes, I just want it to stop for a while, I was shocked when i read all the side effects, my dr must have thought they were worth the risk, but the tramadol doesnt even help the pain. Ive written down the name of the pain killer you have, and will see what he says. Thankyou, Lyzzie x
