Hi ... I haven'tbeen on here for a few months mainly due to the fact that we have a new puppy. Some of you may remember that I lost my 10yr old best friend at the beginning of the year and I missed the company of a dog so much that I decided ... stupidly ... to get a puppy. I love him to bits and he is the cutest bundle of fun ever however I didn't think about the affect he would have on my fibro. He was just like having a newborn at night and was awake 2 or 3 times during the night and that was after an hour to hour and a half of crying because he wanted to be with me not in the kithen !!! During the day he needed my attention all the time especially while toilet training !!! In a nutshelll I do not recommend anyone with fibro getting a puppy !!!!!! Now 3 months on things are calming down. He sleeps til 6am and is more independent during the day for short periods. I thought I would share a picture of him with you all as he is very very cute !!!

Bless him he really is a cutie.In a few weeks you will feel you could never be without him.All the love they give you is worth the moon.Wish he was mine but I have 3 rescue dogs of my own.When I am in pain I have to really really push through the pain barrier to get them walked,but do you know I always feel better afterwards if only for a little while.While I'm out walking the dogs meet other dogs and then the owners start talking to you especially with a puppy.Before you know it you know quite a lot of people to pass the time of day or just chat while the dogs are playing.Yes it is sometimes very hard but be without them. Hi my little Finley is just so good for me (picture in circle) I love him to bits ! - my little westie -harry died age 10 from a tumour two years ago - and we were devastated - and said we would not get another dog - then just over a month later (I was so depressed and lonely). my OH bought me Finley (the schnoodle) - toilet training took 3 weeks (I was up every 3 hours- letting him out) dog training in a class to get him off lead took 6 weeks - I told everyone I would never take to Finley as much as I loved harry - but we are now inseparable- I walk him everyday - on and off lead over the beautiful meadows - talk to him and groom him - and he is so loving and loyal - you always think your last dog is irreplaceable but another dog can give you so much (even though I miss harry - Finley has eased the pain ) good luck with your time with your new puppy - he will help fibromyalgia more than making it worse I am sure - Neese. X

Or hes lov he is when i lost my dog i had for 13 years i cudnt get another then like you i missed the company of a dog so i got my missy puppys are hard work but the love of a dog really helps fibro Womens best Friend X
He's gorgeous. We keep on mulling over whether to take the plunge and get another dog our last rescue dog was 16 when she had to be put to sleep. I used to walk her for hours also had the luxury of a good garden. Unfortunately neither of us are well and we only have a small garden now so keep on hesitating. We are thinking of pehaps fostering dogs for a rescue centre to see how we get on as we really miss having a loving companion.x
We got a golden Labrador from the rescue last week she is 11 and was used for breeding but she is very well behaved.
I can't walk far so my husband does the walking but I suffer every night with back and arm pain as she wants stroked and tickled every minute and we love her to bits.

Hi Debbie my hip pain is the worst and ankle and calf, I do have a stick when I walk but end up with shoulder and arm pain as well and always need to lie down when I get home with my heat pads.

I too lost my poodle-love if my life-and got a monster of a puppy. Love him but really don't know what I was thinking. Took so much out of me that I had to double my depression medicine. I'm ok now since on a better medicine and pain blocks, plus he's settling down a lot. We really must think these things over first! Ha ha!
