Having a baby with Fibromyalgia

I was wondering if any ladies on the forum have had babies post FM diagnosis and how it affected their fibromyalgia?

I was diagnosed with FM 3 months after I had my first child and they told me the fibromyalgia probably came on as a result of the trauma (36 hours early of childbirth without pain relief).

I was always desperate to have children but I'm now terrified to have any more in case it make my fibromyalgia worse than it already is (not sure it can get any worse) and how I will cope with the FM symptoms on top of being pregnant.

I know this is a strange post but I don't know who else to ask.

Thanks

Lou

Hi Lou

May I bring your attention on how to lock your posts?

If posts are unlocked they can be read all over the internet, not just on this community. You can follow the instructions on the pinned posts in blue on the right.

Posts can be locked retrospectively by yourself or Admin will be happy to help.

Be aware too that if your posts are unlocked, then your replies will be too and many members will not answer, even though their reply may be helpful.

I do urge you to do this every time. You can tell a locked post as it has a little padlock.

I do hope you get some useful information about Fibro and pregnancy.

Hugs.

Hello,

I did select the community only option when I posted the message but it automatically set it back to public. Not sure what else I can do?

Hi Ltals

I have pasted you a link to the FMA UK publications page as it has several free booklets on there about Fibro and Pregnancy so I sincerely hope that you find it useful:

Hi apart from having severe morning sickness I felt really good. I did also have extreme tiredness but I put that down to working full time through both of my pregnancies. I hope this helps and good luck x

It did and it didn't. Having the children and working I was very occupied I found after I had a bad bout of flu was when it really started to take a hold. x

I don't have children but when I was first diagnosed the Rheumatologist suggested having a baby because of the hormones produced during pregnancy apparently would have a positive effect. That was 11 years ago and I'm sure the information has changed since then.
