Eye problems
Hi there, I have pain when I move my eyes, it flares then settles like other fibro pain, it doesn't help if I overdo it (using a screen too much etc) GP thinks it's fibro and the optician does too but has referred me to the eye hospital just to make sure. My eye health is fine. It can be quite painful but I suppose there are lots of muscles and tendons around the eye. There's nothing I have found that helps apart from rest. Hope you get some relief . Take care. X
Hi I've chatted to my optician about my blurred vision and inability to focus on small print, when it happens and so on, my eye test revealed my sight had improved in one eye back to 20/20 vision the other not to bad. She thinks that Fibro affects the eye muscles, just as in someone who was extremely tired long day looking a computer screen or similar the eye muscle gets weak, needs rest. In my/our cases it happens seemingly for no good reason, so she prescribed reading glasses so I could read silly small print labels and use them for my art as I need them. Other than that to carry on doing what I had been doing just sitting with my eyes closed for 10 mins.
I haven't asked for any further help yet, if things get worse I will of course
Hope this is of some help
Lou

Yes since I have fibro my eyesight v an change from day to day hour to hour. Sometimes my glasses work like a dream no problems another day and same glasses aren't so good. Mine are really or reading. Normally my long vision is fantastic but again on bad days I need a bit of help. No rhyme or reason to it which makes it difficult to be tested as the results would be completely different according to how I was on the day.
I do get pains behind my eyes sometimes but I think this is to do with sinus and hay fever problems . I commiserate with you.x
I have the same problems, but I think the pain behind the eyes is muscle strain. It's one of my 'top ten worst' fibro symptoms as I love reading. 🙁🙁🐸
I am a great reader and of course not being so active we probably have more time to read. Even when my job was alot of writing and paperwork I never had this extreme kind of eye strain. Yes it isn't one of my favourite symptoms as if we can immerse ourselves in a good book when we are in pain it really helps.x
Couldn't agree more! I can loose myself in a book in a way that I can't when watching films etc. I got an audio book but haven't tried it yet. I keep putting it off as I'm worried that firstly I won't enjoy it so much, but also that I do! If you get my meaning. It's almost a last resort. I need to bite the bit and just try it X 🐸
I can fully understand what you are saying. Whe. I was at college or taking any exams I found that I learnt better by reading things or writing them down rather than listening. I think that is why my mind wanders unless a film is really gripping. I have joined a club where there is a talk very week (wish the meeting was shorter as I don't do sitting very well) but don't find my mind wandering where do something is more visual with something like power point and illustrations I concentrate much more.
Interesting today the talk was by the lady who owned one if through l black stallions that was used for the Lloyd's Bank advert. She actually had a film of how the advert was made which was the most interesting part. She also do wishes half an hour earlier which as!much better for my poor back.x
My eyes get very dry and scratchy, sometimes feeling like someone is pressing on my eyeballs.
The biggest problem I have is that I loose focus as my eye muscles are affected by Fibro. When reading the lines start to swim, and focus gets lost, despite my reading specs. If the fatigue is bad my focus seems to go too.
Not sure if that helps, but I hope it does 🐸
I sometimes get double vision and one eyelid drops, usually when I am unwell or been too long reading. I have had all the tests with good results, so it's all been put down to fibro. Yet another symptom of this condition.
I too have pain behind the eyes...I too have had tests and been ref to Specialists...and too have to lve with the fact that it is down to fibro...but I find that if I pace myself it is so much better...
Hi Froglette
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I too was told by my optician that Fibro affects the eye muscles and this is why I was suffering with blurred vision. I now have glasses that bring the eye muscles into line as to focus properly. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
