I was diagnosed with fybro in 1997 after 2 years off work & waiting almost 6 months to see rheumatologist who did diagnosis.l waited patiently in the waiting area & when l was called in he asked me to lay face down on the bed & proceded to press my back with his fingers l was instantly transported to a level of pain l had never experienced before ok he said classic case of fybromyalgia & was virtually showing me out, l can vividly remember feeling angry that l had gone thru endless blood tests X-rays scans & after every test feeling more like a hypochondriac and a fraud all going thru my mind in a flash in front of me now was someone telling me l had actually got something wrong with me. I stopped him halfway to the door & said I had never heard of it & what was it he went back to his desk pressed a few keys handed me a piece of paper & said read this & you will be as wise as me. I look back on that day as really the beginning of all this misery & cycles of pain depression & after all these years I fight it daily in the early years I used to have several good days then a few bad but now mostly bad but just once in a blue moon I feel awake & almost normal & then a few hours later it returns with a hellish crying gotcha sorry to drone on but I just wanted to offload to someone who can understand  will write again soon as I have lots to tell best regards Dentist

I know exactly how you feel - it took me 24 years of searching for an answer, when eventually a German doctor did the pressure point test on me and I finally knew what was wrong with me.  I went to the doctor yesterday and finally gave in to heavy medication to get some kind of quality life - well I will find out if it helps!!!  You are the first person I know who has had fibro longer than me - I have had it now for 33 years.  Just remember you are a fibro warrior.

Hi Blue Mermaid3

36 years - you must be an expert by now - I wish it was anything like that.  I do feel it is getting worse the longer I have it - maybe the first 24 years were easier because I didn't know what I had.  Any advice you can give me that worked really well for you?

Very Familiar. Hope you are as well as can be today.take care.x
