Hi there
I very strongly agree with Arymretep. No one should ever take someone else's prescription medication.
Prednisolone is a steroid.
I think it would be very wise to make an appointment to see your GP and ask for some pain killers to tide you over until you get a definitive diagnosis.
I'm sorry that this is probably not want you were hoping to hear.
Let us know how you get on.
Wishing you calmness and peace

Hi Scrumpy,
So sorry to hear that your in so much pain, but taking your husbands dihydrocodeine tablets is simply not the answer. These tablets are opioid analgesic's and should never be misused in any way.
May I suggest you seek an appointment with your GP and he/she will prescribe a suitable medication soley for your use.
Warm and soft hugs,
Elizabeth xx
We can fully understand that sometimes you can get desperate when you are in so much pain but please be careful about taking your husbands medication with your tablets we are only saying it because we care. Do make an appt with your GP and ask for some extra help with the pain until you get a proper diagnosis.
Please let us know how you get on.x
Hi Scrumpy1975
I am so genuinely sorry that you are in so much pain but I have to totally agree with your other respondents as it is definitely not safe to take other peoples medications, especially Prednisolone which are a steroid. I take these for my COPD and they have given me Osteoporosis.
Please talk to your doctor about how you are feeling and ask for some pain killers. Please let us know how you get on.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
Please don't take other people's medication especially things like presilone and dihydrocodeine. Taking steroids needs monitoring with blood tests regularly. What you are doing is really quite dangerous.
Visit your GP and get medication specifically for your needs.

Do u no what I could take to help me get off to sleep and stop the aching ?
Epsom salts bath helps some, meditation is definitely good for the pain all round, Valerian tea or drops ( from health food shops) . These all help with better sleep. I hope something works for you.
I don't know how much prednosoline your were taking but stopping abruptly is not a good idea u less it was just a tiny dose. I can't remember how I tapered. Someone here will tell you .

Of course the pain is going to feel worse as you have taken the steroids away. I sometimes wish I could go back on them as my pain was non existent and then I remember the osteoporosis and all the other side effects. If you had been taking then for weeks then probably best to mention to your GP just in case you need some tests done.
Pain takes over the world when it is bad I know. I hope you get something sorted out soon that will make it a bit better.

Do people carry on working if diagnosed with this ?
