Hi all, I'm new to the site and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm jill and I'm 28 and newly diagnosed with fibro. I'm really struggling with what seems to be a bad flare up and struggling with life in general. I've got a 1 and a 2 year old girls so have to keep going through the pain. I'm currently on the sick from my job and wondering whether I would have any chance of qualifying for PIP, I'm also awaiting a diagnosis of CMT so like many others have several debilitating conditions which interlink. I'm so scared about what life is going to be like as I feel worse every day. Sorry for the long post.

Hi Jill and welcome, it's frightening dealing with Fibro but here we support each other - any questions just ask there is always someone who can help.

Giving up work is a difficult decision and you must do what is best for you and your family, as you say you feel worse everyday I would advise you think long and hard about it, discuss it with your partner, imagine worse case scenario and think of your daughters, only you can make best decision for you x

Thanks for your reply I appreciate it. It's so difficult trying to explain to people how you're feeling. yep some difficult decisions to make but I'm blessed with a supportive hubby and family xx

Hi there booboo its quite distressing to hear of your diagnosis so young in life and it must look a bit gloomy and to be honest I think we all must have days like this. But I would like to add that if you ask for a referral from your doctor that there is a course named Fibro Management that is so helpful. It helps one locate and personalise ones own fibro and how to manage it and helps take away that imaginary view we think others take of us at least medical ones. It also will introduce a small amount of physio that will help you know a little of what you need to know. I personally and this may not apply to you so please forgive me, Always feel that if id known in the early days the importance of managing my fibro then it would have taken longer if at all to progress. If your family are supportive then hey your half way there that's a whole load of stress your avoiding. Well keep coming back the people of all ages are pretty amazing here on the forums xx

Hi guys, thank you all for the lovely welcome! It's a late reply as I've had 2 hectic days which resulted in agony and me being shattered so hubby got up with the girls so I could stay in bed. Luckily they still have naps in the day so I nap when they do. I actually went to a private hospital for my diagnosis but they are referring me back to nhs as my local hospital has a multi disciplinary team of an 4 professionals, can't really remember what they do. He recommended my GP to start me on amytriptaline however you spell it! So I've got a good action plan but panicking about work and how I'm going to manage. It seems like I've done a full day's work just getting the girls downstairs and dressed, it kills me getting them in the car and stuff but haven't got any other options when hubby is at work! Xxx
