Hi 11 months ago I have up smoking and had 6 hg fillings removed .

6 weeks after this I suffered massive fatigue, cold hands, hot face, mild akathisia, restless legs and brain fog .it got better for a few weeks but gradually my balance has worsened, I have mild tremor in my fingers (when straightening or spreading them laterally, gently), tongue twitching (when extended), migraine headaches, tingling feet, fasciculations in soles of feet, tiny tremor in jaw (,constant).

MRI is normal, thyroid is normal, I have generally good mood.

I'm lost for answers !

Hi jjnz

I am so genuinely sorry to read this and if I am totally honest it sounds like something that you would get when you just stop smoking! Please do not misunderstand me as I am aware that smoking damages health etc. However, many ex-smokers say they have gained weight, and many say they get constipated as smoking acts as a laxative. Smoking can also calm the nerves and stop hand shaking / tremors and since it is an addictive substance it helps give the body and brain a boost and stave off fatigue.

Mind you, you say that you stopped smoking some time ago so it is hard to think that it could be related to smoking? I would definitely discuss this issue with your GP or Medical Specialist and tell them everything that you have written here, just to get other medical conditions ruled out of the equation. I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken
