hi everyone i went to my doctors a couple of days ago and told him i wouldnt mind trying accupuncture he said the only way i could get it on the nhs was to go through physio does anyone know if this is true also has anyone else tried it as i thought physio still caused pain xx
accupuncture: hi everyone i went to my... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
accupuncture
Not technically true but that is how I received my needle acupuncture by being referred through the physio. My Electronic Acupuncture was given by the Pain Clinic, in fact it was the only treatment they offered me. I do hope you get a course of it and it is successful for you.x
We used to have a GP who did offer this service at our practice, but he's know retired, I know a massage makes me feel wonderful . If that's any good .
Chris
I had acupuncture from my previous GP surgery who sent me to a Chiropractor. I want to gneuinely wish you all the best of luck if you do have acupuncture.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
I have just started to visit an acupuncturist again. I had forgotten about how it improved my energy levels and reduced my pain.
I am fortunate enough to have a teaching facility near to where I live. Treatments with final year students supervised by a qualified practitioner are £10. They also hold community events where treatment is free after the first consultation.
It may be worth researching to see if such a facility exists near you.
thanks will do hope we have something similar here x
Hi i have Acupuncture treatment under the RLHIM @Queen Square(Same place as Grt Ormond St/N neurology hospital.
As under them for my fibro etc find it good but if you look around there is quite a few Chinese herb type shops around now they do it plus many other places like someone put with students an easy one is to do a search in the area you want for places that offer it.
thanks going to have a good search around our herb shops don't seem to be open 5 minutes x
Yes it is true, but because fibro is a life long condition they refused me as it is only done on people who have short term problems. I do find it good but at £30a session I tend to have it if I have a holiday or special event coming up.
thank-you its worth a try anything really just to see if it helps x
thanks bvlgari I think it will have to be a special event for me too unless I can get it through physio its people who have a life long condition who should be getting things like this to ease a bit pain x
One thing you can do is contact say places like hospital that have students learning to be a test dummy etc never hurts to ask/inquire to see what can get as many places need people for things like final year exams etc
thanks oscarbravo good idea will ask as soon as i get into physio x
