Hi all, I hope you're all as well as can be expected. Just a quick question. I've just been offered physio. Did anyone find physio helpful, or is it a waste of what little physical strength we have. Scared it'll make my pains worse. Thanks guys.x

Unfortunately physio didn't do much for me , I think I had a physio with very little understanding of fibro. You may find yours understands the condition more than the one I had. Some of the fibro clinics have physios as part of their team. Hydrotherapy was better as moving in warm water was easier and less tiring. I had a few sessions but the pool closed so I haven't been able to continue as it was the only pool not using chlorine in the water which I am allergic to.

Got to be worth a try to see how you get on, nothing ventured nothing gained.

Aqua therapy is very worthwhile. After the first few sessions you may feel sore but after that, you will feel better and better each time.

I went to Pain Clinic for a month with not much hope but the activity side of it was the only bit that worked for me. Adrenaline and Endorphins released during exercise help the body control pain. Once home I had to keep the exercises up and because of the skeletal damage I have I can’t go for a walk but I did find I could cycle. With the help of an Ebike I went from 5 miles through eventually 30 and 40 miles a day.

I’ve had to get a hip replaced and I currently wait for a right knee - none of which are related to the fibromyalgia so I have been off the bike for a while and I really feel it.

I’m want to replace the endorphins and have been looking into LDN to do that. There is only one way to see if it will works for you and that is to try the exercise. Like any exercise you will be sore for a while afterwards but need to push through and keep going. Once through that first phase the benefits of excercise will be greater.

Physio worked for me...He changed my gait and it's been a really great change to my mobility...

He was very experienced and the changes/exercises he introduced were tiny but so effective. He understood fibro so v well. I do hope you get someone wonderful to help you???
