I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are suffering and struggling whilst on your Duloxetine, and I sincerely hope that you can find the answers that you so desperately desire and deserve. I have pasted below the side effects listings from WebMD and I sincerely hope that you find this useful:
*DULOXETINE SIDE EFFECTS
Nausea (feeling sick)
Headache
Dryness of the mouth
Dizziness
Sleepiness
Only the most common side effects have been listed. Further information about other side-effects can be found in the patient information leaflet.
If any of these persist or you consider them severe then inform your doctor.
Tell your doctor immediately if you develop any of the following symptoms: feeling more depressed or thinking about suicide; having a fit (seizure); blurred vision; any manic symptoms (e.g. rapid speech, racing thoughts, severely elevated mood [euphoria]).
Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.
A serious allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction include: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), dizziness, trouble breathing.
This is not a complete list of possible side effects. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

I would discuss this with your GP or Medical Specialist to make them aware of the issues that you are experiencing, as they may be able to offer you an alternative medication? I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck.
All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi there real sorry to hear about your distress I have am taking them myself,
They don't really have an effect until you've been taking them a month , I thought mine weren't either but my doctor said keep taking them for a while longer it can take a month before they take effect. I have no burning soreness now only form the really larger angry nerves if you know what I mean. Really hope this works for you too. xx
Am currently taking duloxetine (30mg per day), along with other pain meds. It didn't make matters worse, so on that basis I have persevered with it. If I suspected it was making things worse, I would ask GP and move on to something else. Best Wishes.
I have been taking Duloxetine for almost 3 years now. Initially I had a number of side effects, and couldn't sleep. I felt like giving up, but they were helping the pain in my legs so I decided to stick it out a while longer. 3 years on and I wouldn't be without them. For me it took three months before the side effects disappeared.
I'd advise you t give it 4-6 weeks, but beyond that if the side effects are particularly troublesome it would be best to go back and see your doctor.
Hope things settle down for you. Em x
Hi
I have been taking Duloxetine for about a year now and have no problems at all. Initially I took it at night but it kept me awake and really "wired" so switched to the morning and now it suits me fine. My dose is 60 mg and I find that it really helps with the pain in the day.
As per the answers above, I would give it at least a month and if you still feel that you are not getting any benefit/bad side effects then I would advise you to go back to your GP.
All the best to you
Jane
I took 30mg for two months and my pain got worse - in the meantime I didn't have all that much pain and my doctor told me so many patients have improved their pain level - so I took it. The temptation was too big for me. If you goggle and ask "more pain with Duloxetine?" you will find out that 80% patients who took it and have more pain - have never got rid of their pain again. I am totally furious, as I was doing quite well for more than 30 years on the pain I did have. I still have to go back to the doctor and warn her that it doesn't work for everybody. I am so lost to what I must do. However do yourselves a favour and reduce your quantities very slowly. I actually counted the little pearls and halved it - then quartered it and than eighth it and at least had no side effects by going off it.
I tried it and on the third day I realized I had no pain. Apart from thinking I would have to go back to work I was ecstatic. However I then also started to react to them. My eyes were bulging and my mouth started to swell. I also had a problem keeping my body temperature down, at one point I was lying prone up the stairs with nothing on. I just lay there, couldn't move.
Anyway apart from that I loved it. The sensation of having no pain was phenomenal.
I have a couple of friends on it and they have no issues.
Everyone is unique and reacts differently to any medication.
I'm taking 120mg a day and only felt it was really helping once it went up to the higher dose, on 60mg it didn't make much difference
I was on duloxetine 30mg daily for 6 months but unfortunately I had to come off it due to side effects. The main problem I experienced was urine retention. Everyone reacts to medication differently however if you are experiencing side effects maybe you should go speak to your GP. Hope you feel better soon. X
Found Duloxetine upset my stomach . Put on Mirtazapine great and didn't class with Amitriptyline.
