If all in your mind means you are making it up then i am sorry that is not true. Think how much easier life would be if we could think ourselves better. You are a super human and your super power is to feel pain more than the average person.
Pacing is the most important thing to learn and to be nice to yourself. Welcome to the site and gentle hugs.
Welcome you have found yourself in a very good position. This sight is brilliant it is made of lovely people all sufferers looking for sympathy and answers if posss. Welcome to the group. I have found that this is not a group of people that just sit around and complain about what hurts on their body but actually it is a combination of people that have the same diagnosis and it is so new to the medical field that we are the ones leading the way to a cure by being consistent with our complaints and the more we tell people about it or if we hear an idiot say that it's all in your head have them come live with you for three days during the flare up or tell him to go to webmd.com or the Mayo Clinic in the United States they've been studying for 30 years and believe me it's usually Type A personalities that get it and there is a trigger that causes it to begin. So far no meds have helped me 100% yet. I sometimes feel fibro has taken my life away from me being the same mother, wife, sister and daughter I used to be, but I have to suck it up and we have to deal with the cards we are dealt and everyone on this site is always doing something or saying something that makes me feel better about myself everyday. just someone that puts a reason for us to laugh. It's like we are all connected and need each other. Everyone in my family and my as were so tired of hearing about what her mommy everyday I was pushing everyone away from me here on this website I feel when I share information I'm helping somewhere so welcome. We will be here for you. Amy
Just to say welcome to this supportive site. As others have said it isn't all in the mind if it was we could all just wish it away. So many never had depression or anxiety before they had fibro it is the fibro that has worn them down.
You will normally find someone on here who can help.x
I do appreciate all your kind words and I am glad I found this site, thank god people understand the pain we go through,I'm a mother to 4/kids but I do try my best to force myself with so much pain it is worse in the mornings, I struggle to get up I've got a twin sister who has got fibro, she was the one who begged my docter to get me help,I was told its stress.now I know why I've been in pain, does anyone else on here lose concentration or forget things or that is just me x
Do bear in mind that stress either physical or mental is a trigger but not the cause , however do all you can to reduce your stress.
Yes cannt remember my own name at times, just try to go with the flow and it is almost impossible for you to try not to over do things but try to be kind to yourself and have you time sometimes in the day, best wishes.
Hi and welcome to the site, I have only been on this site for a few months, but would be lost without my fibro friends, they are lovely as i am sure you will find out

I am so genuinely sorry that you have such a dinosaur of a GP, and I think I would either try a different GP at your surgery or maybe change to a new surgery? It does beg the question however, if it is all in your mind why would he think that prescribing you medication will make any difference? I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
Hi there I understand I have fibro, RA stomach and bowel issues and loooooooooong standing depression. I find that I need a balance of anti depressant, not too much or I get worse and end up with anxiety1/2 to 1 tab morning and night. Wishing you well.
