ESA assessment
Hi Bob
Is there any information you need from your GP for your ESA Assessment? I'm not quite sure I understand your concern?
Your Assessor will go through your application form with you.
If you are waiting for some evidence from your GP notes then it may be an issue, but other than that it shouldn't affect your Assessment.
Wishing you all the very best.

Hi LU, thanks for your reply, as I said I've changed my GP my old GP was terrible would not listen to me at all even my epilepsy consultant he wrote to her saying that he didn't think I have epilepsy... She was not very happy with the letter at all as I've been seeing her for the past 12years....my only concern is that would I need to take medical evidence with me as my old GP won't give anything to help... So I guess I will have to ask my new GP... I will of course let you know of the outcome thanks....BOB
Hi again Bob
It takes about 6 weeks to get your old notes sent to your new GP. In the meantime your notes are not with the old GP or the new one!
You could always ask for your Assessment to be postponed until you have your new evidence.

Hi once again thank you for your reply, I did not know that the new GP would not have my notes for six weeks.... I have already postponed a few time's due to my epilepsy I can't help the cluster fit's I have... The DWP are very understanding with my condition because I become very violent in the fit's just towards other people... Oveiously I don't know what I'm doing.... Once again thank you..... BOB
I am sorry that you are having so many issues to deal with at the moment.
Would it be an idea for you to ring the DWP and explain the situation to them and see what they suggest?
It can take up to six weeks for your notes to be transferred. They could be there far sooner than that. Let's hope so.
Please let us know how you get on.

Yes I have just changed GP and it can be 6 weeks or longer before the new GP receives your notes which is the pits if you need them to write a letter on your behalf supporting your claim but it does not sound as though your old GP would have been at all supportive. You will be able to attach a copy of your repeat prescription form to show what medication you are on. Would your Epilepsy specialist write a letter of support outlining your condition? Good luck.x
Hi rosewine, thanks for your help, my consultant is away on holiday until after the assessment... I do have a repeat prescription of my meds and I will take it with me... I will of course let you know how I get on one again thank you... BOB
Hi bobajob
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today?
I agree with the others that your notes will not be with either GP, and it would probably be best to get a letter of support from your specialist. I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck with your assessment. Please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
Hi Ken, thanks so much for your reply.... I have rang my consultant but she is away on holiday until after the assessment... It seems to me as if I can't win at the moment... I have to go to the assessment and I will of course let you know how I get on once again thank you.... BOB
