Another possible problem!

Decided to try and get fitter by walking more and bought a Fitbit watch. It also checks heart rate, discovered my heart rate is way too high. Went to see GP this Wednesday and confirmed it was high. GP wants me to have ECG, I have this next Thursday with follow up appointment on Friday, had bloods yesterday. Has anyone else experienced a high heart rate? I know you are all so helpful on here. Xx

HI Alexander

Mine was off the roof at one point and I had never ever had any issues - I would go so far as to say I was pretty healthy other than the extreme back pain I was experiencing at the time.

My heart rate was found when I joined a back class and I decided to begin a process of elimination to try to find out why this was suddenly happening.

Had 2 weeks leave from work and stopped taking the Nortriptyline I had been prescribed at the time. 2 weeks later everything was back to normal.

Have a think - could this be medication related - can you identify when these changes started.

My EEG also had double beats and BP was 150 something - I now have perfect BP and now heart flutters.

Good luck xx

I am really hoping that is all it is. I am currently on amitriptyline, gabapentin and Celebrex. To be honest I am not entirely sure how long it's been like this. I bought the fibit at the beginning of July. I am a bit breathless sometimes but I do get Asthma too. Thanks for your reply.

It never seems to drop below about 90, it's more often than not about 105 but when I sleep it's usually around 125 to 140, the highest it's been when sleeping is 195.

I am so genuinely sorry to read and I sincerely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to this issue.

Mine has been on multiple occasions as I have a sleep disorder and I am prescribed 10mgof steroid daily, so with my Ventolin I do have an issue with this. I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck with your ECG.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hadn't even thought that heart rates can be linked to thyroid problems. Will know blood test results on Monday, not even sure what blood test they are doing. I know it was a fasting blood test.
