I had high blood pressure years ago and it went sky high when I went on the pill and I had to go to a hypertensive clinic to get it down. I have had it monitored over the years and now it's within the normal range (although I can only tolerate having it done with the old-style arm cuffs). I was told once that my blood pressure was labile (fluctuating) so that sort of makes sense.

Dear Tramadolknight,

I have personally experienced similar symptoms and awaiting a diagnosis from Guys Hospital London but the Community Matron discussed Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome.

I have the classic symptoms of feeling faint, pale and cold clammy skin too.

Of course , I am not suggesting this is your diagnosis but thought it is interesting as you mention Dysautomonia.

Maybe you should ask your GP to consider referring you to a specialist as he appears to not have the answers for your symptoms. As I feel you would benefit from a diagnosis to put your mind at rest.

I wish you all the best

Dysautonomias are normally serious illnesses that are not spotted by doctors etc. If you suspect this then you should go back to your GP and push it. I would also type it into your browser bar and do a bit of research before going more so to clue yourself up on it and help you decide if that really is the problem. And I am in no way dissing your feelings or thoughts on this. It is so easy to think the worse case scenario when we cannot find a reason for poor health and odd goings on. My daughter often goes tachycardic for no apparent reason so much so that she sends the machines haywire when she is hospital and is setting the alrams off to alert staff. She also has alternating blood pressure readings, again with no explanation and all the tests under the sun, including having a monitor placed in her chest. This did pick it all up but there was no underlying cause. I wish you luck in getting to the bottom of it. xxxx

Hi there TK, I personally think we have to be a bit careful when self diagnosing because our symptoms invariably match other illnesses and conditions and we could be worrying ourselves unnecessarily. Also adding untold stresses that we don't need with having Fibro already.

Perhaps it would be better at this stage to suggest that you ask your GP for a referral to say a Neurologist or other appropriate Consultant who would examine you, go through your medical history, discuss your symptoms and hopefully be able to diagnose you properly. This would ensure you get the correct treatment.

That perhaps would be more prudent than discussing illnesses that we don't know for certain you actually have. Also this might worry other of our members suffering from the same symptoms that they have these illnesses or conditions too.

Please let us know how you get on when you next see your GP, we are always here to help and support you where we can.

Take care TK. (((hug))) xxx

my gp is fully aware of all my symptoms, including my changes in heart rate and bp as monitored by his 24 hr bp monitor, but has no answers for me as to why, I have also been referred to cardiologists who also have had no answers to my illness or the cause of my severe left sided chest pain. I have also seen pain releif consultants who respond by saying that they have no experience of people with my symptoms, It is because of the lack of answers and information from the "experts" that you have to turn to the internet and sites like yourselves for help.
