Hello Newquay

I'm so sorry that I didn't see your previous post.

I'm so so sorry for your loss. Our pets are part of our families for such a long time. I've had 4 cats over the years who have all lived past 16 except for one. It is horrendous watching your faithful friends slip away in your arms.

I will remember Stella in my prayers tonight and I will also remember you and your family.

Treasure your memories and keep in mind that you did the right thing for her. It's one of the hardest decisions we ever have to make in our lives.

Thinking of you

Lu xx

Thank you for your kind words yes it is oe of the hardest things in life but they can't make the decision themselves.

Our other dog is lost has well we keep getting a bit of company on our bed.

She always slept with her, now it looks like sha sleeps with us.

She tryed to get under covers last night, but made her stay on top.lol

2 in a bed sometimes is too much 3 is just a no no.

I don't blame you. I wouldn't be able to send her to her own bed either. Just give her a few days to settle xx

Dear Newquay,

so sorry to read of your loss. it is one of the hardest decisions us pet owners have to make. ive been through it myself 3 times and each time my heart broke a bit more. but you did it for her, stella shared many years with you and you were there when she passed. what faithful friends you were to each other.

I made a memory box in which I kept their collars, leads and favourite toys. their ID tags are clipped onto my handbag. (as only mobile number on them) and photos on the wall.

she will be waiting for you at rainbow bridge, all restored to full health and youth again.

my thoughts are with you, hugs xx

I brought her collar and lead home and hung it where it always is.

sorry Newquay I never meant to make you cry, honestly.

your other dog will settle in time, her pack has changed and she will soon settle. I am sure stella taught her a lot about how to behave, how to make you laugh and most of all how to make those puppy dog eyes that melt your heart x

So sorry I did not see your original post about your sad loss. However, much you think you have prepared yourself as we know that our pets are going to go before us it still seems to cut right through our hearts. The only consolation is that when we know the right time has come for them and that they can no longer enjoy their lives we have the priveledge of making that last great decision for them.

I can imagine your other dog is absolutely lost as they become close friends. I know when my husbands dog was put to sleep his faithful companion had always waited for him to come back from the vets at the gate but that day she did not follow us and just stayed indoors just as though she knew.

Be gentle with yourself at this sad time as it does take time to come to terms with when we miss them so much and it leads such a big hole in our lives.x
