Josy has been with us for 15yrs and was 2 1/2yrs old when we got her from a rescue shelter. She has been a very good girl who now at 17 1/2yrs she is sick from kidney failure. She has stopped eating and is very week. She is grinding her teeth and startles when ever you pet her. She stumbles when she walks. He has a vet appointment today at 3:30pm. Not sure how much longer she has if she will make it another day. Just wanted to share Josy with you. Every Monday she use to tear out the doggie door to bark at the lawn crew. We live in a town house with a home owners association which pay for lawn care, garbage pick up, etc. We have 2 other dogs Sandy and Lilly. They both are still in good health. Josy we love you.

What you have done is given her a good home . The outcome of owning pets that give us unconditional love is the sadness when they die. As a dog lover of years myself my heart goes out to you Josy may not be around forever but your memories will. Thanks for sharing the picture. I lost my 14.5 year old Cavi last November. I still have her daughter who is now 13 years old.Hope you get a few more weeks with Josy.
She was put down today but she is no longer suffering. She is up in heaven now with Symba and other family that has passed on. She was in comfort in my arms when she past.

So so sorry for your loss but to get a dog to 17 shows what love and care you must have given her. You are bound to miss her but take pride in what devoted furry baby parents you've been. Big hug. X
Thank you Violetta25, she did have a good long life. We both did have 2 desperate occasions where we saw a medium size black dog out the corner of my eye when I was giving Sandy her pill rapped in ham. All 3 would come into the kitchen to get a treat. Okay enough rambling. 😊💕🐶🐾🕊👼🏻🌻🌷
Ahh sorry to hear about Josy 
It's been almost a year since we had Calam, our male collie put to sleep, he was almost 16 years old, he ended up having different health problems sadly, still really miss him.
Josy you are a beautiful girl and have had a loving home with you so don't be sad remember all those lovely times you have all shared if she does go to the long sleep Love & Hugs Xx

I have three dogs all rspca rescues and one passed last year and i remember my nan saying to me when i first got gizmo “ dogs bring joy but with joy comes true heartbreak, when my dog died i swore i could never go through it and never had one since” and i thought “ how sad missing out on such joy”.
Then gizmo passed and i truly knew what she meant by that.. he was 15 and was ill most of his life but he was my first dog and when i had to have him put down it broke me and still to this day i cant talk about it.
Now i have lulu who is 16 and i can see little bits of gizmo in her so i know she not long for this world either, so then there b one!!!
So much joy but so much sadness....
But would i change it NO!
U gave her good home she has had a happy life that what we should tell ourselves and they are true lifelong friends.
Lulu I’m not sure what happened I wrote this long post and looked up at the TV a couple news stories and my post went somewhere. I don’t know. I was reminiscing over Josy’s life and our 2 younger dogs we have use to play with her when they were puppies. We had a cat who walked into our lives then after we got Lilly he jumped the fence and moved one. Too many dogs for his liking. 🤷🏼♀️
Well Josy will be missed here on 🌎 but she is no longer suffering and is up in heaven. I don’t want to loose this message so thank you for your kind words. 😊💕🐶
What a beautiful doggie and how wonderful of you to give her a loving home. It is awful when that dreaded day comes but all we can do is find comfort in the fact we gave them a good life full of love and care. Its so heart breaking but time takes away the painful memories and replaced all the wonderful times your shared together

The hardest, worst part of being a dog owner.
I have rescue dogs, too. Had them for 13 and 12 years where they've had love, and warmth and comfort, lots of experiences ( in 4 different countries!) and just the odd telling off.
Your Josy has had the same with you, and it's all a dog wants. My thoughts are with you.

My simbi been with me since she was 7.5 was was runt of litter,shes 11 this month
Aww 🥰 I love 💕 the the rants of the litter. I also love the premmies too. I but Simbi is such a cutie and has a gentle spirit.
How sad hope the vet appointment goes well I lost my beautiful boy Mylo 2 weeks ago today from grade 4 kidney failure I had no idea he was so bad until I had blood test done that was on the 12th feb and he passed away on the 14 th he was at home with me and died in his sleep absolutely heartbreaking

Rubee, I do not know why my previous post didn’t post. Josy had renal failure. The vet didn’t give it a stage other than it was severe. Josy went down hill fast. We tried different treatments but without success in improving her quality of health. She was but down yesterday. She is in heaven now. 😊💕🐶🐾🕊👼🏻❤️
It's very difficult when it gets to that stage with your loving companion but our doggie babies let you know when it's time to say goodbye. She's a beautiful dog and I'm sure she has been showered with love over the years. x

dear Sarahvit , i am so sorry to hear you have lost josy. you both were blessed to be in each others lives. i adore her photo, her frosty face gives away her golden age. thank you for sharing this heartbreaking time but you did the best for her. she is at peace now and will meet you at rainbow bridge. i know how hard it is to let a loved, loyal & true companion go, but she isnt far as your memories will flood back when you see sandy & lilly do something comical.

She instead is experiencing love 💕 joy, peace ☮️ and happiness up in heaven. She lived a good long life. We miss her being here but I know she is in a much better place now.
