Praying for my results for brain scan next week. Low T4,TSH results normal, and the A1c results were borderline prediabetic. I am currently passing kidney stones and when you add it all up on computer it says pituitary tumor or cancer. REALLY? What else besides hypothyroid he tells me can I take. Maybe this is because of my sudden weight gain throughout the past year so I will be very happy to shed what I have gained and be back to normal. 40 lbs in 1 year.

Pituitary Problems??Dr looking for tumor next week. Prayers.
Hi georgiagirlamy - I'm not sure if I'm allowed to point you towards other Health Unlocked forums but there's one which could be really useful to you on here - the Thyroid UK one. They deal not just with thyroid problems but also with related aspects, such as adrenals and pituitary problems. I'm sure you'd find lots of useful information and support for this issue on that forum.
I'm afraid I don't know anything about pituitary conditions (I am on the Thyroid UK forum for thyroid/adrenal problems though) so I can't advise you myself, but I'm wishing you all the best for the scan anyway. By the way, hypothyroidism which isn't under control tends to cause unexplained weight gain - I know, I've experienced it myself.
Good luck to you for next week!
Fingers crossed for you next week. I know that my friend who had thyroid problems went very slouggish, cold all the time and started to gain weight even though she had always been as thin as a rake. When the thyroid business was sorted out she went back to normal, fit and healthy and all the gained weight came off. Please let us know how you get on.x
Good advice from Caroline, do keep us informed. All best wishes. xx
I do wish you the very best of luck xx
I am so genuinely sorry to read that and I sincerely hope that you can find the answers that you so desperately desire and deserve. I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck for next week. Please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
Thanks Ken
Hello,
I hope that you get the results that you want from the brain scan.
Best wishes,
Dave
I had a tumor on my pituitary gland removed over 20 years ago. Try not to worry it you do have this. I won't lie it was not pleasant and took a while to recover but I know that the research into this has been great and things have progressed considerably since my operation. They initially try to shrink it which medication. Please don't worry, you will be fine.
