Out of my deph

Does anyone on here speak Northern language or doesn't know how to spell like me. I'm feeling a bit thick right now and stupid and actually feeling intellectual downed.

I think I need to disapear into a corner with my fibro and be quite.

Spellings not that important if you have something to say, most times I can work out what someone is trying to say so crack on

Don't worry about spelling as I said in a post the other day I used to be a Queen of the Spelling Bee and now have to ask the OH how to spell, or my usual phrase why does this word look funny. I have just had to ask him how to spell Tardis to reply to Badger's post as even though one part of my brain said it was correct it looked too strange to be correct.

Just put your thoughts down as exactly as Snappy says it is always the sentiment behind it not whether the spelling or punctuation is correct. If we wanted that we would go on a site for a PHD in English language.x

I agree, never worry about spelling or anything like that on here. xx

Ditto. If it weren't for the internet or my partner here, I'd spell half my 4 or more syllable (how'd I get that one right?) words wrong!

As everyone else says please don't worry about spelling. Fibro fog can turn all of us into bad spellers. No-one will judge you here. :-)

RobertaWorthing profile image

I don't use spell check because I think it only corrects words that are spelt incorrectly, it does not seem to care whether the word is corrects makes any sense in the sentence.

What I do not understand on this site is all the abbreviations used like PIP, (can't think of any more at the moment but there are loads), but it drives me crazy, and I often wonder if these ABC's, DEF's, GHI's, etc are relating to English things or American, and I feel stupid because everyone seems to know what they mean except me!

Hi Roberta, your comment about spell checking seemed very appropriate today, my hubby was writing a note to some friends to let them know we will be away in Spain. He put " We will be in Galicia, where my son's finance comes from" it should have said fiancée. Made us laugh a lot anyway. MariLiz

Hey I speak back to front , I am Welsh. And my naner raised me ,she could not speak a word of English as a child so when she learnt English it sometimes came out back to front , what makes me giggle is that both my daughters got A at A level English and me as a mother ,😀 one has been teaching English in Japan as part of her degree for the last year and I am dyslexic and have no grammar skills what so ever, and on top of the fibro ,I am amazed people on here ever understand what I am rambling on about,

Good fun though

Shadow.

Shadows-walker profile image
Shadows-walker in reply tocathy21

Ramblings all part of the fibro ,I think 😀 my children think it's a hoot mothers rambling again ,she ramble up in the hills with her dogs and kites ,can't do that now ,so she's rambling on at us ,and constantly repeating herself .good fun though .

Going to have all 3 of my children under one roof in 4 weeks time it's going to be hell on earth all of them teasing me about my ramblings .

I'm so glad someone else repeats there self, it annoys the hell out of my son and he is 35. I know I'm doing it after the third time of saying it and damn if I don't do it again, what with that stuttering and sometimes open my mouth but the words get stuck and I just make this stupid noise. Hey bet fibris would make a great comedy act on stage, bet we must look so funny.

What a laugh.

Well you right cheered me up tonight, going to shut my eyes with a smile even though I don't sleep.

Thanks very much Chris

Deslixia here! You are lucky I have spell check because without it well you would need a translator!!!! Spelling is still to hard so a lot of the time I have to think of a different word that means sorta the same thing. That is why I ask sometimes if my meaning is understood! So spell on I can usually catch on

cathy21 profile image
cathy21

Like the word sorta, makes me feel at home ta x

It doesn't matter how you speak or write, so long as people can make out what you are trying to say. Most of my language these days is pure 'goboldy-gook' as my brain refuses to remember the words I used to know. Everything is a 'wotsit' or a 'thinga-me-gig' , and often I forget half way through what I am trying to talk about anyway.

hi their my friend how far north will you accept i'm am bigalan and if i can help then i'm here if need take care look forward to your reply.

Hi bigalan

Far or near, if you born a northerner speak like a blackpudxing good eñough for thestage show be howling. Could call ourselves the comic fibro ramblers game for a laugh even at ourselves

Well come aboard our sledge xx

Please do not feel that way as you are a valued and respected member of the community. I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

I speak a lot of gobbleday gook when it comes out of my mouth as my family will tell you in not so polite terms!! have to use spell check when i write but thats just me. Not judgemental of others in the least...

I also must remember to put my glasses on while i text to as when telling a friend about a race night convenor i had manage to source i texted her and said 'ive just gone ahead and bonked him'. I was mortified however it gave them all a good laugh so that was a bonus! Haha!

PS im Scottish so probably further up the hill than you 😳

Don't worry, We are able to get the gist of anything you say, and we all understand that some have more difficulty being understood or expressing what they want to tell us. We will ask if we don't understand and then you can tell us what we missed.

It's sharing the feelings and support that count most. Don't worry about spelling or anything else. Just go ahead and express yourself in your own way.
