Hi Sandy247
Thank you so much for this article but now I have read through it I am concerned by some of the claims and recommendations unfortunately. There are five main herbs that are recommended and two of them are unsafe to use. So I would personally be very concerned about this advice:
*White Willow Bark:
People with ASTHMA, STOMACH ULCERS, DIABETES, GOUT, HEMOPHILIA, HYPOPROTHROMBINEMIA, or KIDNEY or LIVER DISEASE might be sensitive to aspirin and also willow bark. Using willow bark might cause serious allergic reactions. Avoid use.
*Devils Claw:
Heart problems, high blood pressure, low blood pressure: Since devil’s claw can affect heart rate, heartbeat, and blood pressure, it might harm people with disorders of the heart and circulatory system. If you have one of these conditions, talk with your healthcare provider before starting devil’s claw.
Diabetes: Devil’s claw might lower blood sugar levels. Using it along with medications that lower blood sugar might cause blood sugar to drop too low. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Your healthcare provider might need to adjust your dose of diabetes medications.
Gallstones: Devil’s claw might increase bile production. This could be a problem for people with gallstones. Avoid using devil’s claw.
Peptic ulcer disease (PUD): Since devil’s claw might increase the production of stomach acids, it might harm people with stomach ulcers. Avoid using devil’s claw.

I thought I would give the over all content the benefit of the doubt however and decided to read up on lactic acid and found this on the American Scientific Website TM. However, please take into consideration that two websites have an opposing view does not mean that either are correct?
*Contrary to popular opinion, lactate or, as it is often called, lactic acid buildup is not responsible for the muscle soreness felt in the days following strenuous exercise. Rather, the production of lactate and other metabolites during extreme exertion results in the burning sensation often felt in active muscles, though which exact metabolites are involved remains unclear. This often painful sensation also gets us to stop overworking the body, thus forcing a recovery period in which the body clears the lactate and other metabolites.

What the Taking a Natural Approach to Finding a Cure offers however, is a fresh approach and open thinking that Fibro sufferers are looking for as medication can have terrible side effects. My only concern is that a member could take a substance that will give them a life threatening allergic reaction.

The article sounded interesting but I had RLS from my youth and I was in one of those relationships where I had to walk on eggshells. My ex wife was bipolar manic depressive. I held in my emotions to deal with her until one day I had a full blown panic attack. That was over 20 years ago and have removed her from my life.
My point is, why didn't I have the Fibro symptoms back then. I dealt with anxiety for years after that first attack and still do. My Fibro symtoms came on years later, after I was laid off and took some time off of work so I could relax. If stress and anger are the underlying cause, why did mine come on at a time when I was probably more at ease than I had been most if my life. But that's just my story for what it's worth.
Mark5177, I too suffered from depression from the age of 22, 2 marriages (both domestic violence involved) Good ppl like us, build pressure on pressure, stress on stress.Unfortunately its not the calm before the storm, that breaks us. It's the calm after the storm. Like u I thought everything would be alright once the stress in my life had gone, WRONG........... The adrenaline kept me going, then all of a sudden, my world fell apart. I am no doctor, but my advice to you would be.......let the meds & doctors, nurses or physiciatrists help you to be able to cope, then as u get stronger, u WILL come through n get back on track, where YOU can take charge of your life again.......Hope this helps my friend. My thoughts are with you n I wish u health n happiness soon. xx
Hello Sanda247,
I will read in full in a bit more depth later. However, I did note that the writer does have a centre & website from which their own products are sold including most of what is advocated. I think sometimes we must question whether an article is reputable as this may help us make a decision about the information contained within. Also after googling the writer there are websites that discuss doubts also. However that being said I have not fully read it & will comment again after doing so.
I think my main point is that with any site & articles it is probably best to question whether it is reputable before looking at the content as a possible solution. Unfortunately there are scams out there trying to take advantage of vulnerable poorly people, not saying this is one of them but with all articles with alleged cures we should be alert to the potential that some sites may not be reputable or may have a hidden agenda
I will get back to you later
Best Wishes

This may or may not have some valid points, but to say fibro wil disappear in days is extremely far fetched, and why on earth would your doctor not want you to know a 'cure' I am sure mine would be much happier to see me less often !
I know someone who took it for a while. Very expensive! Still has fibro, and still on tramadol, and other pain relief. It's amazing what a placebo as such can do for you! Why is it not offered at the Drs if it works so well. Preying on the vulnerable again! Don't take anything unless you ask your Dr. Just because it's natural, doesn't mean it's not dangerous! Have a nice day everyone.. Xxx
We can all thank the gods Dr Platt sells the exact 50mg per pump Bio identical progesterone he recommends.
Having read it I think it can be consigned to the "another quick fix not cure" part of my filing system. Sorry for not being more positive about it, but like Mdaisy says, there seems to be a lot of money making possibilities for the company, which always makes alarm bells ring for me.
Although I don't take warfarin I do have a blood disorder which would definitely be adversely affected by the white willow bark.
A lot of quick cures pop up and my GP has said that when he knows of anything that is even remotely viable as a good aid to curing fibro he will be the first to let me know.
Healing vibes coming your way 😃😃

Even from the title of this book, Dr Edelberg's suggests that Fibromyalgia can be healed. Desperate for help I bought the book and read it cover to cover. The title is misleading as its content replicates what we all do on a daily basis to manage our symptoms. Although helpful at a time I most needed it, his recommendations have in no shape or form 'healed' any of my symptoms.
Add it to the long list of people promoting their own business. Maybe well meant, and in parts helpful, but unfortunately no cure.
This is interesting, and I have wondered myself whether long term stress might be a factor. Like Mark, the worst levels of stress were some time ago, perhaps the body copes whilst you are going through it, but it takes it's toll and comes out later on in life. Just when you thought things were OK. Most of my illnesses are autoimmune, and I thought fibromyalgia went in this category too. MariLiz
there does not seem to be any research to back these claims up and the aspect of natural remedies having side effects has already been covered.
However the article says what fibro is not and then goes onto to declare what fibro is caused by without any research or empirical backing. the following paragraph then states there is no one cause.
"is actually caused by the build up of lactic acid in muscle tissue and tendon sheaths"
"There is no simple, one-size-fits-all underlying cause of fibromyalgia"
I am sorry but this article is pushing an agenda rather than a conclusion based on fact. I don't pretend to know what the cause of fibro is but anger induced lactic acid does not sound credible.
For anyone that is interested you can read about the doctor at the source of this theory: casewatch.org/board/med/pla...
Not another magical cure .............
This ###p came into my remit a few months back It distresses people with Fibro some of which think "there must be a cure" only to discover this article and some equally outrageous are just selling you something Being vulnerable to suggestion some people living with Fibro or other life long conditions could part with funds they cannot afford to lose Thanks for hi lighting it on the forum Thanks Des for the rundown on why all should be aware!
Hi agree with the author response here, just be very careful on reading this type of information. I have been suffered from FM for sometime, I live in a harmonious life, beautiful families, friends a fantastic job nothing can go wrong until my condition getting worse and in one state I was a housebound, I fight each day, it seems it work for me, as I m getting better than 5 - 6 months ago PM if you like to know further
people who do not believe in fibro read articles like this say there is a cure thats why we are not believed by others.
Thank you everybody for your replies. I, like most of you, think that this is 'yet another fibro cure' which loosely translated is today's Golden Goose. If you can write about or sell/recommend anything to do with Fibro you are virtually guaranteed to make a lot of money. I also think that articles like these can be dangerous - as has been pointed out - to those who perhaps are new to Fibro and take this article as law.
Once again, thank you all for your replies.
Love and gentle hugs to everyone
