Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows of clothing and/or clothing links for fibromyalgia?

Putting on pants hurt, and since i like in Western Australia, i dont know of many clothing options that could help.

Any ideas?

i have trouble with certain fabrics as they hurt my skin i now only wear cotton or well washed linen clothes that move with the skin and have a little stretch in them so they dont pull my skin when i move its either that or become a nudist

Hi KeiraT

I am so sorry to read that you are having this problem and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to this issue?

I always tend to wear a rugby shirt and jeans if I am at home, as they tend to be more baggy and spacious and I find they are not restrictive which creates pain for me. I can imagine that where you live is much hotter than than where I am in the UK? So all I can think of is elasticated shorts and loose T-shirts? That is if elasticated shorts will not cause you too much discomfort?

I do not know if you are male or female? But I always think it is easier to wear mens clothes than it is women's, as mens clothes are less elaborate and more simple and functional?

I genuinely hope that you get some really good answers to your question and find what you are looking for?

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

I believe when you say pants you mean trousers? Try buying maternity ones there's a lot more give at the waist. Soft cotton or linen is the least abrasive.

I wear socks and panties inside out, so the seams don't rub, never a bra.

I'm sure others will be able to add more, as for me, fibrofog is descending, lol

Loose clothes and a good well fitting bra.

Hi keira - I have found elasticated trousers rather than zips and buttons help a lot - cannot even manage a side zip - and you can still get fashionable ones - Bon Marche and M & S do good ones - also loose tops stretchy material go on really easy - front fastening Bra's also good to look out for - there is usually a way to make life a little easier so don't give up - use the internet to type in exactly what you are looking for and that usually works for me. Good luck.

I'm in the US but find that a camie with a bra really just an extra layer of clothe across the breast helps a lot!!! I wear pants with elastic if possible, and sundresses in the summer. Hope this helps!!!! xxxx Mitzi

I can sympathise as I have great difficulty with anything that is tight fitting especially bras. I have to wear one for special occasions and then wear nothing more than those silky bandeau ones and then that comes off the minute I can. I find that lightweight silky fabrics and pure lightweight cotton are the best, certainly nothing synthetic. Pure wool or alpaca if you feel the cold at all. Low rise trousers are the best as they don;t restrict the middle, tight elasticated ones are the worse. The best seem to be linen that have a tie instead of other fastenings. Keep everything as loose as possible. I always buy shoes or sandles that have velcro fastenings as they are easily adjustable. I am sitting here in my jim jams at the moment even though it is only about 5.30 in the afternoon our time as I am having one of those days and they are cotton and loose and so comfortable. Hope from everyones answers you can find something comfortable to wear. Thinking of youx

I have exactly the same with tight trousers. I try and buy roll top trousers if can find them and drawstring (as long as they are not tightly elasticated as that hurts too)

I wear yoga pants to work with a shirt to cover the band and they look dressy. I also buy underwear Fruit of the Loom Fit For Me a size larger than I should be. The bands are very soft. I just wish everything was just a little softer:(

facebook.com/FibromyalgiaEa... I'm working hard at bringing this company to reality, I'm located near Perth. I'll be needing all the help that I can get with likes and sharing, because this is going to need crowd funding, so please stop by. I don't have any photos of samples up yet, and something happened today on FB with an American blogger that makes me glad I've been a bit paranoid. Anyway come have a peek, and if you can help in ANY way please... do

Cheers!

Pam
