Not entitled to PIP
yes, I got my reconsideration letter on Friday same result, they sort of changed things saying that what I said how my conditions affect my health do not fit with medical. I will be taking it to tribunal. And am still waiting to see what was on medical report at assessment.
I wish you success in getting PIP
I have not been through anything of this nature but I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
well I have not...for I have no idea what PIP is ??
Pjs-53,
PIP stands for Personal Independance Payment which is a benefit that disabled people can claim in the UK. It consists of a Daily Living Componant award which focuses on things such as your ability (or inability) to prepare food, wash and bathe etc. The other part is the mobility Componant which examines your ability to plan journeys and walk certain fixed distances. It is a rather lengthy process which does not always end in an award. I suggest that many people, like me, have a rather tough time getting what they deserve.
Andi1,
It would be wise to go to the Citizen's Advice Bureau (CAB) with regards to going to a PIP tribunal.
All I would say is keep all of your paperwork as well as details of all contact with the DWP.
Get a copy of your medical assessment form (PA4), you can request this via the DWP if you have not already done so.
Do an Internet search and try to get hold of the DWP guidelines to the staff completing the assessment - this should not be confidential information.
Have an idea of what you want to achieve and ask the question, "am I being reasonable in my expectations?"
Keep you appeal focused on specific areas as opposed to being general. Focus your evidence on those areas.
It will be a long and sometimes difficult process. You may win, you may not. Remember to not let it take over your life and look after yourself.
Good luck!
Best regards,
Dave
Thank you dave
I'm so sorry to hear this. Can't offer any advice as I'm awaiting a date for the first assessment. Good luck
