Hi there

Pleased for your good news.

I used to take Diclofenac myself for a number of years with fairly good results, but was taken off it last year. I was told this drug wasn't being prescribed anymore due to problems it can cause. Thing is I can't remember what the problems were 😳

That was a lot of help wasn't it - not ☺️

Be interesting what others have to say

Hi sweetdreams, I'm so pleased the tests all came back ok, that must be reassuring for you. You're asking for info on diclofenac - it is a very strong anti inflammatory and can have considerable impact on the stomach. I had it once, years ago via a suppository when I had kidney stones and it didn't help at all, not surprisingly - morphine did. I think doctors are becoming more aware nowadays of the long term impact it can have on the stomach and as such a less likely to prescribe it. Hope that helps a little bit 😀😀

Hi always take it with food as that lessens the impact on the tummy.

you will have to be careful with diclofenac if you get a lot of reflux, it can be an irritant to the stomach and gastric area x

Glad all the tests came out well one weight off your mind.

Yes I took Diclofenac tablets some years back and it was the only meds that ever completely controlled my back pain I thought I was in heaven for three days. Unfortunately, I then started to experience absolutely crippling stomach pains which literally doubled me up and I realised that I seemed to be passing blood. Went to the docs and was told unfortunately it was the tablets and to come off them straight away.

I do hope they suit you as as I said above it was the only thing that has ever taken the pain away completely. Please let us know how you get on with them.x

Hi sweetdreams, I had diclofenac as a suppository because of the problems it causes with the stomach. If you use it as a suppository it goes direct to the bloodstream and bypasses the digestive tract. That's what I was told, and it worked well for me like that, but I wasn't on it long term. I had it to ease the pain caused by gallstones and then appendicitis prior to surgery. Best wishes MariLiz

I have been on Esomeprazole 40mg twice daily for over 10 years. Been on most drugs for reflex for 30 years. Had every test under the sun . Camera's up and down. They all come back fine. Fibro messes with your head. Your nerve clusters become hypersensitive so you experience multitude of symptoms. I try to live with the new symptoms till the anxiety takes control and then more negative tests.

Life with Fibro is like the worst Roller coaster in the world and you cant get off.

If you have re-flux you need to avoid anti inflammatory drugs.
