Hello, my very first post. I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and feel really happy to have stumbled across this forum. I feel it might help me cope. I have been reading some posts for a few days but felt reluctant at first to write something. But here I am doing it, big step for me as I suffer with anxiety. Next time I hope I have something a little more interesting for you to read x

Sorry guys I am still finding my way about this site. Was just wondering if anyone could help me about my medication. I have been started on gabapentin 75mg per day to start, then double the following week and triple the next. Is this about right as I am in a lot of pain and it doesn't seem to be helping, anyone else been started like this? X
Hi and welcome Lynette. Glad you have found your way here, hope you find it as helpful as i have. Yes, it is usual for you to start gabapentin at a low dose then build up to make sure it suits you. Sorry but it can take a while for you to get the right balance of pain and sleep meds, stick with it, there can be a light at the end of the tunnel! Gentle hugs, Julie xxxxx

Hello Lynette
I just wanted to wish you a very warm welcome and to say you're are doing just fine 😊.
I suffer from anxiety (big time!) so I completely understand where you are coming from.
Fibromyalgia is a very unique illness that affects everyone very differently. If you have any questions, just ask away. I've been on this forum for a couple of years now. Joining has been one of the best things I've ever done.
As Tiredalot says there are some very witty people on here (Tiredalot is one of them). So join in, have a laugh, moan, rant or post a question.
Look forward to seeing you around the forum.
Gentle hugs Lu xx

Hi Lynette, and welcome. Do everything at your own pace, including finding your way round the site. Try looking at some of the pinned posts and brows the topics. But don't go into information overload. It can be a bit daunting at first. There are lots of lovely people here, I still remember my own early days, now there's a miracle
