Hello johnjack273

Good luck ππ
Hi there johnjack,
I'm so pleased you've got a date for your assessment, and no, please don't be extra worried at all. I have heard of people having their assessment at home on many occasions, and l know if I were in the same position I would hope for a home visit. You are in your own surroundings and will be much less stressful than having to journey to an assessment centre. This though is only my very humble opinion.
I will most certainly be sending huge amounts of positive vibes your way on the 6th May ππ

Hi, I had a home visit for PIP last month. Nothing to worry about. They just go through your form with you and type away the way they would in an assessment centre. I have had my results back through. I was awarded higher care but standard mobility until 2020 x
Hi, I asked to be assessed at home, you will not have the stress of getting in and out of the car, and sometimes worse trying to find a car parking space, which really would send you stress levels up if you couldn't find one, and also finding the place and how far you would have to walk. So I asked to be assessed at home, the lady that came was lovely and she could see that I was in pain when asked to do things and thankfully didn't push me too far, otherwise I would have been zonked all day what with the stress and trying to do the things she wanted. Anyway she didn't ask for me to climb the stairs but she had a lot of questions and I answered them truthfully and I was awarded both parts, but I know that the waiting and the visit was very stressful , so I wish you have a lovely lady like me. Very best wishes and I will be thinking of you on the day.
Morning John Jack,
It seems that they asses you where ever is the best place for you.! They came out to me I live in the country and other times it has been very difficult to get to the review.
Dont stand up stay sitting unless you are asked to stand then make a bit of a show with the difficulty level.
Good luck be open and honest
Please don't worry , I had my assessment at home, the guy was lovely and I got my award, standard care and higher mobility, he just asked questions and filled in the form on his laptop, he was her about an hour and it was fine , good luck xx
If you go to assessment centre and they look at the cctv and decide that you walked to them okay that will reduce the Mobility points and it goes on. At home is the best place but do not make out you are better than you are. If you cannot do something do not do it no matter how much they insist.
