I know several people with this and sometimes they have no symptoms whatsoever and i think in all cases it was found when in fact the medics were investigating something else. I have sometimes been able to hear their tums gurgling away at quite a distance especially if they eat certain foods, mine is the same and I have IBS. Stress can also make these things worse as we tighten up all over not just in the muscles of say the neck etc. If your symptoms are getting worse or this is an entirely new symptom for you that you have not brought your GP's attention to I would have a chat with them.x
I am so very sorry to read that you are suffering from Diverticlar disease, and I sincerely hope that you can find the answers that you so desperately desire and deserve. I have pasted you a link to the NHS Choices cache on this topic:
I am sorry you are suffering! My husband has ulcerative colitis and though not the same has similar symptoms. What you describes sounds like what can be called percolator gut which is painful and noisy. It is just a symptom of active IBD.
