Hi, I was wondering if anyone has tried melatonin to help them sleep, if so did it help? Hx
Melatonin: Hi, I was wondering if... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
Melatonin
Yes I did some years back but unfortunately the only difference it made to me was make me feel a little "fuzzy" but no help with the sleeping. Everyone is different of course so if you have the chance to try it I would as it is better than sleeping pills. If you do let everyone know how you get on.x
I have not tried this, but I wanted to genuinely wish you all the best of luck if you decide to give it a try.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
I tried using melatonin, but I didn't even get the "fuzzy." Nothing. But I imagine it wouldn't be on a list of "natural" sleep aids if it didn't work for anyone. Other things I've tried are bendryl and seroquel. Same thing. No sleep.
Maybe I'm lucky to be Bipolar too. My doctor gave methe smallest dose there is of zyprexa and it knocked me out like nothing else!
I hope you can find some other ways to relieve your insomnia. Or maybe it will work for you. It can't hurt. It is pretty benign.
Hi - yes it used to use melatonin to great effect until I started amitryptiline which also knocks me out. You only nerd a very small amount and I have read that higher doses are not as effective - think I was talking 3mcg tablets
Thanks for your advice, I will give it a go and let you all know how I get on xx
Melatonin helped me a LITTLE. GP said I prob needed higher dose then moaned about it being expensive. I lost my 'sleep switch, after extended illness. Trazadone helped for years. Now I only ever sleep with a fifty Trazadone and sleep tab.
Otherwise I remain suspended between sleep and awake. That went on for months .
I tried melatonin and it did nothing for me. I take Zoplicone to help sleep. If I didn't take anything, I would never sleep! Good luck.
