Hi there, I have had fibro for a few years as well as some other conditions. I am finding it increasingly difficult to maintain my part time work................can anyone tell me if there is any help out there for people who have mortgages and aren't able to work? thank you x

Hello as i understand it if you have been working part time it is unlikely that you would be entitled to ESA.

You may however be entitled to PIP which is a benefit paid to sick and disabled people to help with the higher costs. It is not income related and so it doesnt matter how much income you have. if you jump through the right hoops you will get it.

It is a difficult benefit to get but it is well worth trying.

Sorry i dont know the direct link to benefits but if you click on this link and look for benefits you will find it.

My personal advice is do not try filling in the forms without the help of a benefit adviser. The CAB have always been helpful to both hubby and I.

Good luck and i hope to see you around the site.

Make sure when you fill the forms out that you put down what it is like on your worse day. I know its hard to tell what 1 day is going to be like, but its best so they get an idea what you can be like

Yes you can get Esa and you may qualify for pip .. After you have been on ESA for 13 weeks they will pay the interest only on your mortgage ... Good luck

Yes but some if your repayment will be interest so they will pay towards that part .. Do you have mortgage protection insurance ? X

I have pasted below a link for you to the GOV.UK cache entitled How to claim PIP:

I genuinely hope that you find this useful.
