Hi Wincoupe,

It's often upsetting to learn the ways in which FM is affecting our bodies. :(

Did they explain how FM is affecting your vision?

Apparently it makes the muscles behind the eyes weaker x

Must be frustrating to know FM is affecting your eyes in this way?

Do you notice this in your day-to-day activities? Bothersome?

I have intermittent muscle soreness with flares, yet have not noted muscle weakness in my eyes yet.

I have noticed that as well as being far sighted I was finding reading a problem as well, so on a routine check up he informed me that Fibro has this affect x

Sorry you are experiencing some effects with eyes and vision.

I hope an adjustment in lenses are helpful to you?

I hope those measures are helpful enough. :)

Eyesight is a very important topic. Thanks for raising it. This topic makes me stop and think, too. As you can see, several people have commented. Am sure more will comment in time.

Thanks again! :)

Hi,

yes it does affect the vision at times. It's fortunate your optician recognises that though.

I must mention this next time. I'm due an exam soon - eye level, not O level. Maybe why I get tired and achy behind the eyes.

I think I saw something on the mother site but cant remember where. Hugs :)

My eyes ache often, even more so when the rest of me aches.

Hi wincoupe

I am so sorry to read this, and I genuinely hope that you are not too distressed by it, as it can be a shock that Fibro can do this. I started having visual issues over a year ago and went to my local opticians and they told me that Fibro can affect the eye muscle. They scanned my eyes and showed me a picture of a very drooping eye muscle, it was a bit of a shock for me!

All my hopes and dreams for you

My eye sight has got worse. I had a check up recently and my prescription hadn't changed, he said it was the fibro affecting the muscles.

I have recently had my eyes checked, they were fine, although I was not expecting them to be. I often get blurred vision, and sore eyeballs. I did download an app for my phone to exercise the muscles, but it tired me after a couple of seconds and I went to sleep. So I have never done it again!! 😴

Thankyou for sharing that win coupe, my eyes get very tired and blurry at times, but as I am an avid reader ,I just put it down to "tired eyes" . Will definately mention it to my optician next time.

Thanks for sharing this, I'm due a test next month and often get sore eyes so will mention this then. Take care. X

I was told by ENT that I have Sjorgens. My eyes are very sore and gritty and sometimes blur especially if I have been doing some reading or drawing. I find my eye sight has worsened in the last year. My last eye test showed pressure in my left eye. Then when I saw my Rheumy in October she prescribed hydroxychloriquine which has a potential side effect of eye problems so not happy about taking this. I dont want to make things worse for myself so will have to face the music when I see rheumy next. Gentle hugs Joolz.x
