Hip issues pondering

I have had a number of injections for hip pain over last 3 years. My last visit to hospital I saw a nurse specialist who said I needed new hip!

Anyone gone through this process with fibro ? How old? I have onset of osteoporosis so time may not be too flexible

Sorry about your hip pain.

I have not had hip joint issues from fibromyalgia.

I have had hip pain from inflammatory arthritis located in the hip joint.

Do you have osteoarthritis? Often, joints will deteriorate from OA from wear and tear over the years.

I am interested, as well, in whether people with FM have been needing hip replacements.

I hope you find relief soon!

I had my first hip replacement aged 19, I have just had my revision on the same hip in June 2014, it was because of perthes disease.

Have a look into Ankylosing Spondylitis. There is a school of thought that believes fibro is misdiagnosed when the real problem is early onset AS. A friend of mine with AS is about to have a hip replacement in April, due to AS. She's 34.
