Well just into the new year and i am now on my 3rd interview, this will be my 8th since my assessment 3 months ago. Now they want to send me on a 4 week work experience, its a joke , i have worked for 45 years, how much more bloody experience do i need. Even got a text message reminding me , wouldnt mind so much but i am not going to 'get better' its Arthritis, and i am really suffering with my feet and right hip. I am 60 now, wonder who is going to want to employ me with my health, have written my letter to ask to be put in Support group, i will have to see what they say, its past the appeal date but my health is going to get worse not better, another day eh

Hope everyone is as well as can be xx

Hi angelm54

I am so sorry to read this, and I genuinely hope that everything works out for you? I was wondering if you were in receipt of PIP? (Personal Independence Payment). As with this benefit you are not sent on work placements etc?

I have pasted you a link below to the GOV.UK pages on how to claim PIP:

How To Claim PIP:

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck with this.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

I do have pip I was awarded higher rate mobility and lower rate care, does this mean I don't have to attend them then, I told them I had it but they didn't seem bothered, what's should I do. Thanks for the reply Ken x

Hi again

ESA and PIP medicals now cover each other (vice versa), so being assessed as being disabled for PIP should (in theory) mean that you are covered with the same medical for ESA. So, I really would ring them again and double check on what they have (or may not have told you), as you may be covered?

I have pasted you a web link and an excerpt from the Benefits And Work website relating to this issue:

Excerpt From benefits And Work Website

Employment and support allowance (ESA) medicals – work capability assessments (WCAs) – are being used to make decisions about eligibility for personal independence payment (PIP), a government minister has confirmed. What’s more, in an effort to reduce the PIP backlog, many thousands of decisions are being made by temporarily promoted DWP staff who aren’t really decision makers at all.

Benefits and Work also has evidence that the reverse is true: existing ESA awards are being looked at again and changed on the basis of a PIP medical report.

DWP staff and a government minister have revealed that employment and support allowance (ESA) medical assessment reports – ESA85s - are being used by PIP decision makers in a bid to speed up processing times and avoid face-to-face PIP assessments.

I want to wish you all the best of luck with this, as I believe in the same way that PIP claimants do not sign on to collect their Income Support, it could be the case that they are exempt from mandatory work programmes?

Good luck

Ken

IM SICK OF THIS COUNTRY GOVERMENT ETC ITS HORRENDOUS . WE ARE ALL JUST A NUMBER . NO HUMANITY

I HOPE EVER GOVERMNT OFFICAL GET THESE DISABLING ILLNESSES SO THEN THEYLL UNDERSTAND
