Ever since I've been diagnosed I have felt lost and not myself and I'm sure many of you can relate. I have decided to do something new, different ,to try and regain a bit of control. But I have no idea what to do!
I am nearly 42, my kids are in their last year of school ( I have twins),and I need something for me, I think so I don't let this illness consume me.
So, any ideas?
Thanks in advance, Cid.

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I think that is a wonderful suggestion, and I was wondering what interests you had? As it may be difficult to engage in a hobby until you rediscover what interests you? I understand completely bringing up two children consumes your life until there is no time or energy left for you and your life becomes all about your family.
So I think the real question is what interests you? Could it be literature? Crafts? Flowers? A part time job? Nature? Keep fit? The list of ideas could be very extensive. So it may be a good idea to try a taster session of one or two things to see what appeals to you most?
I want to wish you all the best of luck with whatever you choose.
Have you ever been onto Pinterest? There are dozens of thing to do and there are instructions and videos showing you how.
If you type` Pinterest arts. crafts and diy ` You will get a list of `boards` that other people have put together and you can work your way down the list looking for things that interest you.
Since being ill i have learnt needle tatting. improved my crochet and made lots of things.
Trouble is i will never have time to make every thing that i have pinned that i would like to make.
If you like art and want to be really good at drawing (ie much better than you are now whatever your level) get a copy of Betty Edwards 'Drawung on the Right Side of the Brain' and work through the exercises - you will be astounded at the results and all with just some paper and a pencil! You could get some wonderful portraits of your twins and I mean seriously good ones!
I agreed with all above. Pinterest is a brilliant place to start as it covers everything - but be warned you will get totally hooked on it
Good luck -hope you find something to grab your imagination.
I go swimming as it really helps my pain and I can do much more than I can otherwise. The only issue is that it is sometimes difficult if the water is too cold. I mostly swim front crawl and that really stretches out the muscles in the trapezius which is where much of the fibro pain emanates from. My back and neck always feel better afterwards. I usually do a couple of lengths of breaststroke as well.
Dont worry about spelling i have just got myself into a right state i couldnt find `p` I had just used it twice and then it was gone, the more i looked for it the more upset i got.
When i found it it was pretending to be `R` by using a bread crumb as a disguise.
Hi, I am in the same boat with you, before you do anything, can you try to get the advise from your gp and also get the support from your local fibro group in your area, they normally quite a good help, then finding out what do you like to do, first start by doing a bit of walking (gently) then increase your stamina..and see how you doing and start from there.....good luck..but don't forget to keep liaise with your health care professional, in my case, its not as easy as what I thought though, but don't give up if you find obstacle..Good Luck..
I started learning new crafts, mainly from You Tube videos, so now I crochet, knit, make Kumihimo braids, make candles, sloe gin and chutneys for Xmas. Everyone gets homemade gifts now, which saves money and folk love them. Also if you're on FaceBook, there are many craft groups with good ideas.

Hi Magenta. I find pinterest useful for storing all the crafts (resipeis always have trouble spelling that) cooking instructions. Things i see that i would like to buy ect. ect.. that i find on face book and you tube.
It put them all in one place and easy to find.
Hi mayrose, I've looked at Pinterest some good things on there, but do they have the instructions for making them? I've just found pic and how to make ice candles on one of the fb groups I'm in...will be next project ready for Imbolc

Some do, some dont If i want a pattern for some thing i go onto pinterest and type into search what i want, such as `crochet free pattern cowl` and see what comes up.
Most crafts do have the instructions, to get them click on the picture and then click on visit site.
Some that dont have patterns / instructions i find that i can usually work out how to do it myself.
