Does anyone have any tips on how to get a good nights sleep. I drop off to sleep then wake up again this happens over and over. I get up in the morning so tired and can't wait to get home from work to rest. I don't want to go on sleeping tablets as I take lots of tablets already. Hope you can help

Sorry to hear you are suffering with this. I find it helps if the bedroom is as dark as possible, no lights from gizmo's on standby etc. I find it restful just to be in the dark even if sleep doesn't happen. Lou x
It may worth trying amitriptyline because it has several advantages, helping with sleep, anxiety and lifting mood and it isn't classed as a pure sleeping tablet. Maybe you could talk to your GP about this and you may be offered other things which can help. I know insomnia inside out and now am willing to take anything just to get even a few hours of sleep!!
Sending you lots of positive and sleep inducing vibes which I hope may help you
I am so sorry to read that you are experiencing sleep issues, and I understand exactly how frustrating they are as I have been an insomniac for most of my adult life. I think that Foggy has got an excellent suggestion with Amitriptyline, as it is a multipurpose medication.
I want to wish you all the best of luck, and I genuinely hope that you can find the answers that you are looking for.
It is typical for me as well. I usually take up an hour to drop off but it is not unusual for it to take up to 2 hours or even longer for me to drop. it is very frustrating, if I am really struggling to sleep i hypnotize myself it helps me to relax, but you have to know what you are doing. I was taught how to do it by a qualified hypnotherapist.
Hi Pcdurham, Just wondering if you've been checked for Sleep Apnoea. Do you snore, do you have anything going on in your 'life/world' at the moment that you're very anxious about but dealing with it subconciously? It may be that you need to report this to your GP after you've ticked off all the other posibilities to ensure it's put on your record as it may be connected to some other health issue.
Hi there. I can empathise with having a poor sleeping pattern. I find avoiding caffeine and having a bath at night helps me relax. I also find that amtripyline and cocodamol help me with pain. I have been using the headspace app which helps me relax. X
