Thanks for that Gramma, (your post is fine),
Hello Gramma,
Thank You for the information, I have memory foam in everything I possibly can! For me I find it's a necessity, so I hope others wanting toppers etc find some at a reasonable cost with your post
Many Thanks

Hi I was looking at those on the app ,was thinking about one but they are not that thick ,so I took a look on another site ,same sort of money so you can see before you buy I suppose has it stood the wear and tear of a year any idea what pillows were like ?
Hi Gramma
I sincerely hope that you are feeling well today? I am thinking about having one of these? I will be moving to a new bungalow in a few weeks and I want a new bed when I move. So thank you so much for sharing this with us all.
I genuinely hope that yours is wonderful and gives you so much relief?
All my hopes and dreams for you

I was thinking about a mattress topper yesterday and was wondering if they are beneficial to us FM sufferers, I am going to try one after reading your post thank you x
The thing about these ones is that they are not too expensive if you don't like them. I waste nothing and I would have found some other use for it if it hadn't been right for me.
Just as a matter of interest, my daughter in law bought a memory foam bed for her aged arthritic dog and she paid more for it than these ones. When it arrived it was made up of off-cuts sewn together!! X.
Thank you Gramma certainly going to give it a try x
I want one of these too - but are they safe to use with an electric blanket? I'm always cold and find the heat helps with pain too. Is it the budget supermarket with an 'A' or with an 'L'??
A, and they are there this Thursday. I'm not sure about electric blankets as I don't use one. I obviously have the opposite problem to you as I'm always hot! X.
I just found this on the internet, I hope it's of some use:
It is not advised to use an electric blanket on a memory foam mattress or a memory foam topper. This is because the foam is already temperature sensitive, which means putting a hot blanket on top of it may cause more harm than good.
Memory foam is made out of visco elastic material which has the unique ability to conform to your body, rather than the other way around. It is able to do this by responding to your body heat, softening in the areas where you need it to most. Therefore, by placing your electric blanket on top of your foam mattress may cause it to soften even further which will eventually prevent it from giving you the adequate level of support that you need.
For the same reasons it is not advised that heat pads be used on memory foam mattresses as they can also cause damage and affect the mattress’s ability to offer support.
Do not be too disappointed about the fact that you will not longer be able to use your electric blanket on your new mattress because in actual fact, you should no longer need to use any additional heating products when you are sleeping on memory foam. This is because the foam will respond to your body heat as you lie on it and quickly warm up.
When you first get your foam mattress, you may notice that sometimes it may feel firmer. This is because when the room your mattress is in is cooler, the mattress will naturally become firmer. Once you lie down on it however, it will soften. Another solution is to increase the temperature of your room which will help to soften your mattress before you go to sleep.
Thanks for this information Gramma Im going to try a pillow as i wake up so many times a night with pains that makes it hard to cope in the day.

I do have a memory foam mattress topper and pillows. both are great for support and gentle on my aching bones. my hubby also has worn lumbers so helps him a lot too. when our mattress needs replacing I would love a memory foam one I find the pillows great to use as u don't have to plump them into a certain position/shape for comfort like I used to do with feathered ones, also I only need one pillow now.
never seen seat pads though, I will look into those now, thank you. anything to ease my pain.
hugs x
How very annoying that you can't use them with electric blankets
My house is friggin' freezing in winter (single glazed, uninsulated 1800's cottage!) and I'm not sure I'd cope without the heat from the blanket as my chillblains get horrendous. A shame, as my mattress I think was made at the same time as my house, and my broken bed to boot makes for a pretty unpleasant night's sleep!
Oh dear. Can't help much there then sorry!! I guess it's easier for me to cool down than you to heat up. I remember when I was last in hospital and I was dripping with sweat while the lady in the next bed wore a thick woolly cardigan, had extra blankets and tried to put her coat on as well. Bit excessive don't you think!! X.
Hello EquineArcher77, dont miss your blanket, have you considered an electic Over blanket?
I have a goose feather and down duvet in sqares 10 tog, and I am still cold, so I have a cardigan, a scarf and when feet go white, bed socks!!, and sometimes and extra fleeceblanket on the top!!
Have u got thermal liners on your curtains or long curtains to stop the sneaky drafts from creaping under. Hope you get warm soon, ttfn
There is also a sale on memory foam toppers at a budget store where your pound is stretched, a double is about £5 cheaper than the supermarket. Hope this isn't too close to advertising, that isn't my intention obviously, but every penny we can save is important, and we all love a bargain Hope everyone is doing okay, Hugs Linda x
