Please help.tell me have I...??
First of all I would like to say I'm so sorry for your loss. You do appear to be very unsettled from reading your post, do be assured we understand this, such a lot going on all at once. I would in the first instance see about changing to a new G.P. the one you were seen by seems ill informed and unhelpful. I would also say that on this forum you have found a very caring group. Wishing you all the best X

Hi louiseamos
I am so sorry to read that you are suffering in this way, and I genuinely hope that you can find the answers that you are looking for. I want to say how sorry I am to read of your sad loss and I offer my deepest condolences. I have pasted you a couple of links below relating to tender point tests for Fibro, the second is a slide show so I hope that you find them useful:
fibroaction.org/Articles/Th...
webmd.com/fibromyalgia/ss/s...
I have read many articles that suggest Fibro can be induced by a trauma? I was wondering if your sad loss of your loving father was a trauma for you? And could you see a possibility of this instigating your Fibro?
It may be beneficial for you if you made an appointment to discuss your situation with a different GP? It always helps to find a GP that is understanding and compassionate toward your illness. I want to wish you all the best of luck with finding resolution and relief to these issues.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken x
Yes you really need some useful answers. Go to another GP. Good luck. X.
I am so sorry for your loss. Like Ken I have read that sometimes the fibro is caused by some trauma and as Ken says losing your beloved Dad could have an effect as it is trauma enough without being ill. You do need a more understanding GP as without one how can you go forward with treatment. I am not saying there is anything at the moment that cures fibro but there are treatments that can keep the pain most of the time to a much more bearable level. Try to be kind to yourself, I do think stress makes the symptoms worse. The sites that ken has pointed your towards give excellent information on understanding the condition more and some things that perhaps will make life easier for you. Soft hugs, keep us up to date with your progressx
So Very Sorry For Your Loss Sweetheart!!! You have been through so much and the stress tends to exacerbate pain. I think you need answers your doctor doesn't have and some tests done. If you could get a referral to a pain clinic they would be able to access your pain levels and possibly give you the answers you need. I hope this is helpful to you and you find some relief for your suffering!!! xxx Mitzi
