this was my first bunny - it has been well loved bythe kittens but it really did not look much better when I first made it a few weeks ago LOL
the proportions are a bit wrong, the stitched were a bit big - I was copying a kntting pattern and it all went a bit squiffy - but I managed to make a better one for my niece ( see post ...3)

Hi Ken - I had a knited kangaroo too! - it had a little flat joey in a pouch at the front and kept falling sideways as I had slept on its tail so did not stand up any more!
That's a sweet memory! My great aunt knitted mine for me, and I really loved it. It was from the TV series tinga and tucka (the two little bears) with kiss kiss the kangaroo and Katie boil (I think?). Do you remember that?
sounds vaguely familiar, but I don't think I watched it.
My Oldest sister made it for me - she was on her crafting phase - handmade pillows and throws abounded ( she is 9 years older than me) , and she decided to make some animals from one of my favourite books for me - she is so super clever - made them all with not a pattern in sight!
I had the kangaroo with the flat joey, an African elephant ( big ears , a purple and black giraffe ( she did not have any yellow wool left!) a tiger with a ribbon on its tail and a cobra - the cobra was my favourite - she had added these black buttons I think she had recycled from a jacket - they were jet black and shiny and caught any faint light so shone at you in the dark bedroom - brilliant!
I think that is all of them - I must ask her if she remembers - it was such a long time ago!
