Hi.So I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 24 years ago.

I have struggled with severe anxiety for many many years, from childhood and abusive husbands.

I currently receive pip.

I haven't worked in nearly 4 years.

I applied for universal credit and was turned down because apparently hubby earns to much , he's a postie.

But ive been advised to still try for the LWCRA

Universal credit told me to apply also.

Has anyone got this for similar issues?

And also any advice.

Thankyou

Thankyou I've been looking at that. But also wanted to hear from people who have been through it.

What is LWCRA?

LCWRA - Limited Capability for work and work- related activities is an element of Universal Credit

I do, for same conditions as yourself. ☺️

Also, how much do you advise to to tell them? I want to be completely heard.Should I get my hubby to do a statement?

I’m not sure if mine is a unique experience, but I never completed the forms. I struggled too much with anxiety and hand pain to fully complete them, but they still sent me an appt for a video interview.

I asked in the interview if I needed to complete the forms and the chap said they don’t insist on them when there’s any mental health involvement. So he went off the info I’d given to my work coach and from the fits notes.

If I were doing them now, I’d say treat them as you would an application for PIP/ADP and offer as much info as you can, including statements from those who care for you.

All the best with them - I wish a successful outcome for you 💕

Good morning, I applied last May and had my assessment around August last year. As a result of that I was placed in to the “ support group “ I found the process much easier than when I applied for PIP a few years back x

I applied for LCWRA a year ago, and qualified. I have Fibro and worked up until last year. I think LCWRA entitlement should be an independent application, not to include your husband’s earnings, contact DWP to clarify.

Hello The DWP said he earns to high. Because on top of his wage he has a small pension coming in.

But was advised to claim for non working part ie lwcra.

Can you please tell me how much you told them about your fibro?

When i applied for ESA, I filled out the form. I didnt have an interview, as they had enough on the form, so put as much information as possible. Once I was put in the support group for ESA, UC then LWCRA automatically. However once my partner starting earning too much they stopped my UC and I lost the LWCRA but I still get my ESA

HelloThankyou for replying to my post.

I'm sorry you lost some of your benefits.

My partner and I sat and filled it in this afternoon, took hours.

I wrote a fair amount, hoping it is enough.

I presume they may contact my gp.

I really don't hold out much hope.

And a potential face to face would be awful for me

Thankyou Also last question.

When you sent your UC50 form back did you have to wait long to hear back? X

ESA is means tested unless you get contribution based and not income based. If you have worked and paid national insurance then you should get contribution based . I'm not sure if that has now changed given the state of everything. You would be better getting proper advice from citizens advice they have the information directly from the DWP and can help you thru the process. Good luck x
