Hi Hun, aw bless ya, it's awful when the pain is so intense it seems never ending! I know different things work for different people, I tend to try and relax, take painkillers and lately although I've always used heat to soothe aches and pains, I used cold...and it worked. I was in agony with my knees and put a bag of peas on them and it soothed them, whether it was an inflammatory thing or just numbed the pain..I'm not sure. Really hope it eases off soon, take care xx

Hi Pipido36

I am so sorry to read that you are suffering so much with your Fibro, and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to this issue. I am a big believer in stress and anxiety causing extra pain (just my opinion), so if you get more tense because of the pain it can create a snowball effect, but again, that is just my opinion.

I use a TENS machine, which I find very helpful and they can be picked up for about £20. I tend to sleep with it running so come the morning hopefully my pain will be minimal, although nothing with Fibro is guaranteed.

Dulexotine is a serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor, so it may not be useful to you for sudden flare ups as it is basically an antidepressant, so most of us will have alternative short term pain killers such as Co-Codamol or Naproxen etc? Have you got anything like this that you can use?

It is really worth seeing your GP and discussing something along these lines and getting some extra pain killer, even if it is an Ibuprofen Gel? I want to wish you all the best of luck and hope that you fee better soon.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hi Ken

Thank you very much for the advice. I have been taking paracetamol and codeine, but seems it's not working. I cannot take naproxen as it gives me nose bleeds. I will make an appointment tommorrow to see my GP about it. I cannot sleep at all.

I think I have to try the TENS. It might give me some relief. Thanks again. Take care x

I've been given Tramadol and for the first time my pain is a lot less. I actually slept for a while last night. I do hope you find something to help you

Amitryptiline, citalopram, tramadol, paracetomol and ibuprofen for me, but that's what works for me. I'm never actually pain or symptom free but takes the severe pains away sometimes, relaxation and gentle exercise too xx

Hi Pipido36. I know what you are going through. I had a bad flare up for 4 days. I could not move and was crying because of the pain. I use vultarensuppositries. This help for at least 4 to 5 hours with all my other tablets. All i did was rest, lying down. There is not much else i can do when i have a flare up. I also do pilates just to get my joints a little bit of exersise. I really hope you feel better soon. You do get your "better" days.
