Hi joed, I've been taking oramorph on and off now for about eight years. Initially for break through pain , but then I fractured my spine and was advised to use it then. I suffer with bad back spasms and I use a combination of oramorph and diazepam when this happens.

You say you've been out on oramorph, is that as a regular medication or for breakthrough pain? I would warn that there can be side effects such as being very dopey (but then I am normally, so maybe it's just me ;-) ) I also find that if I take more than 5ml I itch like crazy and have to take an antihistamine .

If you would like to PM me to discuss this a bit more, please do. It would help to what other meds you are on and why your GP has chosen to prescribe this for you.

Sending positive healing vibes your way :-)

Foggy x

Hi joed

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I have never had this medication, but I just want to wish you all the best of luck with trying it, and I hope that it works really well for you.

Take care

I take oramorph , I take between 20-50ml a day , I didn't realise , but after reading fibrofoggiest , my itching could be a result of oramorph , but it does ease the pain , so that cant be a bad thing , I now use it in larger quantities when the pain gets bad , but try and when im pain free I tend not to use it , im using the 500ml bottles , but I use this in conjunction with zomorph , which is 5ml capsules , but I do hope joed that you find the pain reduces .
